Sue
Game either locks up on the hot coals bit right at the beginning or when I try to save my game. I've tried reinstalling 'loads' of times, but it makes no difference. I've closed down all other programs. Yes, my system is compatible. Yes, I'm using Win98. I've even had a new CDRom drive fitted because I thought it was faulty. I have also emailed Lucas Arts. I want to play Monkey4. Can anyone out there help???? LadyDi
What graphics card do you have. Most problems seem to be related to that. Check the Lucasarts website and read about the compatible cards and updated drivers. Also check the Tech Help messages. I have Win98 and Voodoo3 and had problems in the beginning but worked them out by downloading new drivers and the 1.1 patch from Lucasarts. futharkred
Rather than going online to LucasArts, they've already buried a huge troubleshooting guide (372 kb), not very helpfully titled 'monkey.rtf' in the Install folder of the game. In particular, it has detailed info. on many video card problems that make running the game such a challenge. Variations on the situation have also been looked into in a number of other topics, especially in the Tech. forum, and you might find some help there. Above all, if you find the answer, please let us know! --Paul Nelson
