Hi there. Im an avid fan of starwars, and im looking forward to the impending release of the game. I use my laptop for everything and im wondering if the game will be able to be played upon laptops? I know B+W in most cases doesn't work, regardless of specification. :(

Does anyone know if GB is going to run on laptops?

My specs are

1Ghz P3 SpeedStep

256Mb RAM

32Mb GeForce Go

30GB HD.

Lets hope it runs!

Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't have a problem with those specs, the game runs on a pretty minimal system, 266Mhz minimum and no need for graphic acceleration so you'll be fine :D

Well I used my laptop to run the demo and it didn't prove to be of any problem...

Since the engine is actually Aoe, if u can run Aoe, GB shouldn't be any probs.

Thats reasuring to hear.

I can run AOE2 and AOE easily, however the screen size is extremely small. Since my laptop is 15" it runs at 1600*1200 resolution. Lets hope GB runs with a bigger screen.

Well thank you guys, now i just have to wait for a British release. :)

Has anyone set up mod sites in readiness for the game release and if so does anyone have any URL's?

Not often i get to quote myself.. but here goes.

I have just played the demo, and the screen size is centred and around half the visible area of my screen. Much the same as AOE2 was. Its a shame to see, a good three inches of black screen surrounding a small game screen. :(

Any ideas?

I know there is one more resolution setting in the demo, i saw it on the options screen. However it isn't enabled in the demo. Will it make any difference in the actual game?

Oh and does anyone have a technical support addy for lucasarts?

Hey, just to drag this back up, i was using a laptop over the weekend, and I'm now really glad I didn't buy one, it seemed every game I played (3) had huge black borders around it, which is not nice.

Maybe there is something that can be done about it, if not I feel sorry for you having to play like that, does it do that for your other games?

Woah, Pecker those specs are huge for a laptop! Sadly, my brick wouldn't run the demo, the stupid fixed resolution doesn't work with my screen.

The specs are very high for a laptop computer, however such specs come at a price. :(

I did purchase the laptop with the main use being for my university studies. However i knew fine well that my favourite game Deus Ex runs fine on laptops. But AOE games don't :(.

Does anyone know if AOE or GB can be windowed?

Thanks in advance.
