understanding the skeleton tiles

For the life of me I cannot figure out the skeleton tiles in LeChuck's fortress.

 

Starting with the first verse

Do you push all three tiles then walk through the last one, or do you push one tile, then walk through it.

 

If your verse reads leg, hip, arm, head does the tile have a leg on a hip on an arm, or a hip on a arm on a head. Or does order matter at all?

 

Also, what do you do when your verse doesn't match ANY of the tiles?

Use the right stairs.

Look for the first correct combination and enter. Then look for the second one, etc.

Maybe I'm being dim, but I simply am not getting this. What do you mean first correct combination? How is that determined? Do you mean the first verse on the paper that matches a tile?

Okay, the walkthroughs were confusing me about this too. Starting in the "signs" room, go into the passage where the skull panels are and consult your first verse. If the panels don't match the first verse, then go to the next room. There will be more panels to choose from. When you finally find the first verse, push it and go through. You'll know it worked when you appear from behind a different panel in the passage, rather than walking back into the "signs" room. Continue through all the verses and it should put you at the big door.

I just guessed. I found all the tiles in the same room. Or was it...

I never used to get that when I was young,

I get it now easily tho.
