Guest SACadzmanB65
Sorry that this Topic has nothing to do with Rogue Squadron, but something happened to TheForce.net. If I get Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Widescreen Edition Boxed Set, do I need a special tv for the widescreen or is it just normal without the split screen (the two black strips, one on the top and one on the bottom). Guest Ikhnaton
You don't need a special TV for it. It just has the black bars on the top and bottom.
Guest SACadzmanB65
So then the Widescreen Edition Boxed Set will have the film with the black bars on top and bottom, and the film just alone will have that too. And they call that widescreen because when we saw it on cinema it was really wide and they need to make it wide screen on video otherwise it would look really weird, and we would go because we didn't see the surroundings, but we saw it in the cinema. Guest Ikhnaton
See, that is why they have the black bars, so that they can show a wider view, pretty much everything you could see in the theater. The normal version will be pan & scan and you won't be able to see all the scenery. But the widescreen version will have the bars but will show the whole thing. It is a trade-off. Guest SACadzmanB65
Thanx Ike, also I would like to ask, If I buy it at a store (like Fred Meyer) Should I get there at the time it opens in the morning on April 4th (the day it comes out) or if I get there later will it be sold out? Because I have never tried to do or get something on the day it will be out.
