How do you rate fire percision. I mean all the craft have the same f. precision.

And those were MY ratings of the a-wing vs x-wing plus I think since the X-Wong has a R2 D2 so that is a advantage.

Plus all craft has its advantages and disadvantaged. Like the a-wing is great for hit and run tatics, the x-wing is good for missions that recquire a longlasting and powerful craft, the y-wing is good for bombing,v-wing is good for recon. mission and quick quick attacks. I think we all now the reason for the snowspeeder

By fire precision I mean, how close within the sights do your shots actually land? The X-wing's guns are way out at the wingtips, so their laser bolts land further apart than the little A-wing's. The Naboo starfighter does best in this category, with the guns right there in front of the cockpit.

And yes, each craft does have a specific role to fill...as I discussed at length in the 'X-Wing' thread. biggrin.gif

Wwll actually you are right in a way and wrong in a way you were right in common sence that it would be closer but you were wrong in the fact that the X-Wings laser(s) go in word if a target is in sight

Guest Imladil

Yeah...but I don't want to get that close to the target! By the time I'm close enough for the guns to use their own targeting sensors (which is what is going on after all,) the target has had enough time to lock onto me and shoot first.

Now...in an A-wing, I never see an AT-ST or turret facing me as I'm attacking. That's because I've A: been fast enough that I have that element of surprise, and B: engage it as soon as I see it. Zap-zap, dead. biggrin.gif

Whoa whoa whoa!!! First of all the X-Wings presicion is way better then the A-Wings d*** pivoting lasers. And you don't have to get that close to targets for the lasers to hit them in an X-Wing. Another thing, the laser turrets can't hit anything, you can juke around and still hit the things, and you shields will save you when they do hit you. HAHAHAHA, A-Wings suck!!!

After the A-Wing's lasers meet, the go out in opposite directions, but I've never seen this happen in an X-Wing. Also, are there A-Wing novels?

I doubt there is an A-Wing series. A-Wings aren't worthy of their own series. biggrin.gif

The explanation is simple: A-wing adventures are so intense that they must be experienced to be understood. That or we just aren't ready for them.

How about: Strike Wing Group A: Imladil's Assassins? biggrin.gif

Why don't we each spend a day in a A- Wing. Then report it back here. smile.gif

I flew only the A-Wing for a day, and I hope you're happy you !%$*!*, actually I didn't do that bad, but only thanks to my superior flight skills.

Tip from Chillin:For better shots with the A-Wings d*** pivoting lasers shoot just below the TIE.

Okay, I just attacked a convoy of Imperial corvettes* in an X-wing...and I did okay. Just because of my superior flight skills, you understand... wink.gif

I still don't like those widely-spaced guns, or the speed problem. Fortunately, corvettes don't go fast to begin with. biggrin.gif

*(I don't have a copy of RS, so I did this on XvT.)

This whole changing missiles thing is understood, and there was a real Star Wars universe then you could do that of course. And I know you can do that on XvT, however since we are on RS.net and talking about the RS vehicles I still say the A-Wing has dinky missiles.

Lissen, you pups...I was zapping down TIEs over Kessel and making the Jade Moon turret sweep when you guys were still playing Mariokart! wink.gif Believe me, I am still an expert on Rogue Squadron just with what I got in my head!

Why don't I have RS anymore? My heartless b***h of an ex-girlfriend took the Nintendo with her when she moved out. biggrin.gif The RS was my game, but I gave it to her so her two boys could still play it. Now I play on the PC, but my machine is too slow to play RS. *Sigh*

Why did my g/f leave? Dinky missiles.

(That was a joke. wink.gif)
