Guest Rogue15
I found out that rolling the ship actually has a purpose-on sullust i used the y-wing and when i started spinning the missiles wouldn't track my craft as easy. It's pretty hard to shake the missile when it's locked on though, usually running into the ground or going face first into the wall then moving left or right before you hit works best, sometimes. Guest Imladil
When I'm playing XvT, I'll roll when I'm going through a battle zone. It keeps the enemy from locking on there, too. One thing I used to do in RS to confound the missile turrets was to alter velocity randomly as I was attacking. That way, missiles launched before I changed speed would land either in front of or behind me. ! That was Imladil's advanced flight tip #73, BTW. ------------------ "I sought the true nature of reality but discovered instead the real nature of truth." --Thrustweasel of Earth
Guest The Master
Then what is #74? [This message has been edited by The Master (edited July 04, 2000).]
Guest Imladil
Tip #74: When you come to the 'swarm maneuver' formation of Imperial TIEs on Taloraan, you can get extra points by surrendering to one of the interceptors. Just get right in front of him and match speed, and you'll be safely conducted to the 'Happyland' bonus level. ------------------ "I sought the true nature of reality but discovered instead the real nature of truth." --Thrustweasel of Earth
Guest The Master
So did you write a book called "Imladil's Advanced Flight Tips"? If you did how much does it cost?
Guest Imladil
If you you could just pay a fee, read a book and fly like Imladil, things would be pretty swell, huh? You probably want my fashion tips and cooking secrets as well... Well, forget it. If you want to be Imladil, you have start all the way back in 1968, and it's simply too late now. I'm sorry. Guest R.A.V.E.N.
..............WOw. When Im playing X-Wing Alliance to avoid missiles i just pull em up in my handy dandy targeting computer and shoot em to ****. Thats a trick I learned from X-Wing and used in X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing VS. Tie Fighter, and x-wing alliance. ------------------ I buy socks every thursday rather than clean the ones I have. Guest Commander 5-98
You didn't because you probably didn't have x-wing alliance or others where you have FULLcontrol over your craft.I don't own x-wing alliance because i don't feel like forking over the money and I won't download the demo because it takes to long and I don't have a T-1 connection.Who here has a T-1 connection??? ------------------ I rule this ocean with an iron fist,an iron tail, and for that matter an iron everything-Metalseadramon
Guest Chillin
I don't know if I have a T-1 whatsit all I know about my computer is that I use it and it does what I want it to. I don't know what parts it has! And I feel stupid when people start discussing their computer parts and how fast they are or whatever. So I'll skip this conversation. Oh yeah, hi, I'm back. Guest Imladil
Commander 598: I was being sarcastic. Since I am jet-monkey number one of the twenty-first century at X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, I am quite adept at using full starfighter cockpit systems. I've even been known to shoot a missile or two myself, usually if I'm out of flares. You keep assuming that I'm unfamiliar with these games... Guest The Master
I meant T-17, as the ship, but I guess that makes no sense.
Guest Imladil
Ah! You're talking about the Incom T-series spacecraft, of which the T-16 is the low-orbital skyhopper we see in Beggar's Canyon. I don't know what the T-17 is...probably a levitating dunebuggy or some such.
