Anybody still play this game? I still do now and then, but I spend most of my game time with other stuff, mainly SFC. When I first got it as part of the software package for my new computer, I had to use the mouse & keyboard. I found great fun but rather frustrating to fly effectively using the mouse. But I got a new joystick not too long ago for my birthday, a Blackhawk Digital, which I really like and I can play it much better now. I still fire up the ol' x-wing when I feel the need to toast some ties! smile.gif

Just thought I would post to see if this game has a following anymore. I know it was released a long time ago, but it is an awesome game which is fun to play. Unfortunately, it followed the old level advance format, which loses it replay value after a while once you master the levels. If only they could of added multiplayer with co-op option as a sequel, or at least a mission builder. I don't suppose Lucas Arts will do any game like this in the near future, they seem to be focused on releasing games for the new Episode 1. and i'm not interested in any of them.

Any thoughts on this game. Will it ever be expanded on like they did with X-wing vs Tie series?

OOHHH YEAAH! There is still a herd of Rogues wanderin' around. Right now there seems to be an ebb in the tide of folks who post.

I use a Logitech Wingman Extreme game pad. It's perfect for RS. You should have a lot of fun with your new toy. Have a BLAST, or should I say Blast off!

Great to see some life out there! Shootist, so the Wingman Extreme is really great? I like my Blackhawk, it works really well for me and feels great in my hand. Lots of buttons for all of the functions and easy to program! One of the main reasons I got it was during my research on joysticks (it had been a long time since I bought one) it stood out for its good features and reviews , all for a great price of only $20. I'm sure some sticks are better but they seemed to be a lot more expensive as well. I had to save some of my birthday cash for games. smile.gif

Well, does most everybody play with a joystick? Or do some of you like flying around by mouse! I just could not stand it anymore, not as precise or very fluid movement, especially quick, hard turns. I also prefer the throttle on my stick over using keys to speed up or slow down. Of course I still use some keys for special functions, but no mouse!

I use the Cyborg 2000, it's the best one for X-Wing. If you want an x-wing mission builder go to www.avault.com and go to codes or something and go to x-wing. It is so much fun! Well sometimes, it takes a while and a brain to make a very good level.

About the Cyborg, it has a 4 way hat, and it can be configured to your hand and it has 3 main buttons and a trigger, plus a good throttle. I put about $40 into getting it.

They ALL sound good to me, I'd probably get too confused with too many buttons and such. I haven't ever tried the mouse/key combo, probably make me even crazier than I already am!!! smile.gif
