Guest LukA_YJK
Dear STAR WARS: ROGUE SQUADRON fans ! Downloaded the "Rogue Squadron Theme" from "Downloads" section of www.RogueSquadron.net I was disappointed, to say the truth. Firstly: it was about twice larger than the indicated size and Secondly: this theme was not exactly from Rogue Squadron, just a collection of various StarWars goodies and a screen saver, which weighs almost 2 Mb and does not work on my system, because requires some vb40032.dll... Then I decided to try make a real Rogue Squadron screen saver - my first screen saver and it is ready now ! This simple screen saver uses the game data, so it requires the StarWars: Rogue Squadron properly installed in your system. It is available in the new "Downloads" section at http://rogue.squadron.tripod.com Thanks again and May the Force be with you ! LukA_YJK from Baku Thanks to all Star Wars: Rogue Squadron developers team and very special thanks to George Lucas !
Guest Rogue Pilot
OK, I downloaded your file and will try it out tonight. Will let you know how well it works and looks. Thanks! ------------------ Ties are flies. Let's swat'em!
Guest Rogue Pilot
Well, I got a jump on it during lunch. Went to your site and downloaded your RS apps. To be honest, the screen saver is only OK. It displays randomly the SW movie pics which are used as backgrounds in Rogue Squadron. It did not show any pics unique to RS at all, which I thought was one of your main complaints with the one downloaded from this site?!? It would have been nice to see something like the game title screen, the RS hangerbay, pics of the fighters in action, etc... See if you can find those in the game data, hopefully without needing the CD. On the other hand, your RogueCar app was very nice. This is the first time I was able to fly the infamous Black Buick in the PC game. This the programmer's car accessed in N64 version with cheat code "KOELSCH". I had lost hope of flying it, but since the car data is in fact in the PC game, then there must be a password for it. I have yet to find it. Thank you very much for finding this and sharing it with everyone. Congrates! Question about the player13 game save file? After expanding file, I copied it to my player profiles directory, but no new player was available in the player selection screen. Am I missing something? Thank you for all of your help. Guest LukA_YJK
First of all, thank you for warm words and supports. I just tried to make my applications good (neat) like that great game ;-) Regarding ScreenSaver pictures: ACTUALLY the screensaver gets it from RS data files from your HD, so the picture of Luke and R2-D2 on X-Wing is the 2nd hidden image I mentioned in the DEVELOPERS section of hrrp://rogue.squadron.tripod.com ;-) Regarding Player13: I am sorry for unfortunate mistake, I should write "Just simply copy it into your PlayerProfiles directory and rename by replacing "13" with any unused number between 00 and 10..." in readme, actually people uses my RoguEdit application, rather than the Player_13 profile so I did not notice that RS does not allow Players more than 11 (00 to 10) ;-) Thanks again and May the Force be with you ! Guest Rogue Pilot
Thanks for the updated instructions on how to install the Player 13 save game correctly. I have not had a chance to try your RogueEdit app yet, but I will soon. I was fully aware your screen saver pulled its data from the RS folder on the hard drive, not the CD. My suggestion was if there was any data on the hard drive other than the Star Wars movie background pics that you could use to make your screen saver have a more Rogue Squadron appearance. As I see it now, it looks just like a regular Star Wars screen saver only it uses the SW movie clips from RS game data. If there are no RS pics on hard drive, then no, you could not do this without using CD. And it would not make sense to require CD for a screen saver. Please let me know if you have any luck finding RS pics to add to your screen saver. Keep up the good work. ------------------ Ties are flies. Let's swat'em! Guest LukA_YJK
Dear STAR WARS: ROGUE SQUADRON fans ! First of all - greetings from Baku and thank you very much for warm words and support... How funny, because of my poor English I did not notice a criticism in the previous message Of course my screensaver is very simple as I wrote and surely it does not pretend to be an "unofficial screensaver" Actually I found some other images also (the Bios pictures of Rogue Squadron members and bridge pictures for each mission) but they are very small... And as I wrote my "main complaints with the one downloaded from this site" was simply that it did not work (requires some vb40032.dll) for me and it weighs about 2 Mb Finding this DLL and installing it in the system at last I could watch it, but no comments this time... To say the truth, I hoped to make a screensaver with rotating Rogue Squadron crafts like in a secret Music Hall accessed through High Scores with MAESTRO Passcode. But although I found all craft models and texture data I have not a clue to it... Please wish me Good Luck and May the Force be with you !
