We have been discussing the special AT-ST vehicle in Rogue Squadron that is accessed by code "CHICKEN". In the N64 version of RS when you use this code it gives you the AT-ST to control on a special level that have several different ground targets you can blast, and that is it.

But in the PC version when you use the "CHICKEN" code, it gives you the AT-ST to use on whatever regular level you pick. Problem is that the AT-ST in put in same starting point as ships, which is usually far from the action if you have to walk to it instead of flying. Question, have you used this code any? And if you have, any success in getting the AT-ST close to the fight without wasting alot of time? What regular mission level do you think is best for the AT-ST.

Finally, you have been very, very good at finding some things in RS and writing little utilities to take advantage of them. I use RogueScr, RogueCar, RogueEdit, and love them all, thank you. Can you please check to see if there is a special level for AT-ST like the N64 version. If not, any suggestions on how to move AT-ST to the action would be very helpful, thanks.

Dear STAR WARS: ROGUE SQUADRON fans !

First of all - greetings from Baku and

Dear Gold Squad Leader, thank you very much for support and nice words about my utilities, I am really very glad that you tried and liked them smile.gif And sorry for late reply - I have not a chance to use InterNet often frown.gif Hey, I even did not notice that I already became a Flight Leader !

To say the truth, I think unfortunately I can not help you much. But the following information may be interesting to you:

This summer during the excavations I found the levels in the game data and noticed that actually there is a 20th level in RS ! Wow, I always had a doubts why all chapters have 5 missions but the last one 4 missions only ! A little trick and after about half hour I got this level at "Battle of Hoth" wink.gif But it turned out that this level is not a real level, RS is using it for intro with a LucasArts logo shaped mountain and Factor5 logo shaped building, so I nearly forgot this story, only saved few snaps from this "level"...

Answering your questions I must say that I used this passcode several times and I can not say that I liked to control AT-ST, perhaps because of reasons you wrote about. So I can not say anything about "what regular mission level is best for the AT-ST"... But I noticed that our Chicken is about twice smaller than imperial AT-ST and it is not available "on whatever regular level you pick" (for example on "Taloraan" and "Calamari" levels)...

In short, <U>I am sure that there is not an additional AT-ST level</U>. May be there are AT-ST oriented starting settings for each level. Sorry, because of lessons I can not check my suppositions right now, but I will continue excavations in this direction as soon as I can...

Thanks again and May the Force be with you !

Thanks for responding LukA_YJK, glad to hear from you. I understand you are busy with school, so don't worry about it if it will be a long time before you can search further. smile.gif

I was hoping the same level for AT-ST on N64 is hidden somewhere in PC version waiting to be discovered, just like you did for the black Buick, RogueCar. I doubt it is there, but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask someone who's looked at RS and found things before, right? If you don't find it but can make something to change AT-ST starting positions as you hinted at, that would be great. Good luck with your studies and keep in touch when you can. Gold Leader out. biggrin.gif

I know of a secret level that can only be accessed with gameshark for N64 only! It is the main logo level that you see at ther very begining of the game when turning it on.

More info later!

Master, does this work? And if it does, are the only things on the level the logos? I'll admit it is a pretty cool opening clip, but playing it as a level? As I recall the only things to shoot are 2-3 laser turrents and a couple of AT-PTs. Is it worth playing? LukA_YJK said he found it in the PC version but made no fuss, sounds like nothing new to see.

Okay I'm back to fill you in the rest of the way. The level is the Lucas Arts logo ONLY, unfortunatly. THIS IS NOT A RUMOR! I did it myself. You can fly around the Lucas Arts logo which is interesting though there arn't any enemies. But it's one of the little neat glitches that Lucas Arts put in there without meaning it. biggrin.gif

So, you ask, is it worth playing, well you can play it but there are no objectives, no enemies and so. It isn't really worth playing unless you want to just play around and look over the logo. I tried it becuase I wanted to check if it was true and brought my curiostity up. But if you are a good Rogue you would go and try it if you have a N64 and the game of coarse, and don't forget the Gameshark. biggrin.gif

Master, you're not losing it upstairs, are you? wink.gif You should know by now that I play the PC version of RS. I don't have a N64 or Gameshark. The purpose of this thread to begin with was to ask LukA_YJK if he found anything else hidden in PC files, especially a level for AT-ST. Sadly, he hasn't yet. frown.gif

Now this N64 logo level sounds like it would be cool to fly around in for a couple of minutes, then what?
