[Gold Squad Leader] Thank you again for good news ! <BIG>Modification is working !</BIG> And we have got the first result - a new passcode AAAABDBOHP another mysterious (or bogus) passcode Now bad news: [!]As we see your sUPer computer spent 75 min. for one step in 6th position. To complete any position it must make 26(?) steps. So for complete scan it demands 75 x 26 x 26 x 26 x 26 x 26 or 891103200 minutes. Hence by these rough calculations it will be finished next millennium [!]I noticed a mistake in my modification ! Seems that it can find only 10 digit passcodes correctly So I hope to repair this and to change so that it will quickly check shorter variants fist starting from the variant entered into the Passcode Box. As soon as I can make this I decide to make it available at my site... Good luck and May the Force be with you ! I got Rogue squadron for my pc (i also got it 4 my n64) but 'cause i needed screenshots for the level i'm making for mots, my mom got it 4 me as an early bday present. It was the last one they had at electronic boutique! I am going to check out that code right now and will tell you by tuesday if it was a good one or bad one. until then... Guest Rogue15 Posted January 21, 2001 Share Posted January 21, 2001 r2 makes that noise, but i don't notice any effects... i think this might be one of those tricky codes where you have to enter 2 (like halifax and yngwie to get the naboo). I'm at Fest already. I love using the joystick, i just wish i had a force feedback one, 'cause it feels strange without the bumps and bangs. Now that you know your modified bundle.002 file worked, have you figured out how to speed up the process any? Now that you noticed you forgot to allow it to find shorter passcodes, will this allow you to make search go faster? Also, it found another valid passcode before I had to shut it down, so there are two new codes for us to test and explore to find out if they do anything. We have new strategies, passcodes, infos and utilities since 1998. Also we can make the site more RS styled... Unfortunately have not a chance to use InterNet often but I think we have to unite somehow with nntp://alt.games.lucas-arts.star-wars.rogue-squadron newsgroup, maybe by inviting them to our forum from time to time. There are many top ace pilots there and perhaps they have contacts with developers... The Master please, you don't leave us ! Dear Friends, please understand my delayed response Don't forget I am here like on an asteroid far from communications [Gold Squad Leader] Thank you very much ! As I said before I hope to change my modifications so that it will scan all variants of same length starting from the word entered into the Passcode Box. It is almost ready We have not a SuperComputer but we can take the approach it uses by dividing the big task into a smaller tasks and running them parallel on several processors (as Rogue15 noticed). It will be possible with a new version of Bundle, I will send it to you for testing as soon as it will be ready. I think instead of starting from 10 digit variants we can more quickly check shorter variants first. What do you think ? The shortest known passcodes has 7 letters... And did you notice that some passcodes disable each other (AAAAFNPDJY and GOODGUYTIE) ? [Rogue15] Nice AAAAFNPDJY shot ! I have tried getting people I know to join, I have tried going into chat rooms, and ect.! Now one really cares about us. If they ever acually make a sequal to Rogue Squadron, then people may come back. They go with the flow. We were some of what was at the bottom of that flood. We stayed while all the left went for XWA.net. Well if the sequal is ever made the tide should turn back here, now I don't want to go on a speech so there is that. At least i haven't abandoned Rogue Squadron, i just got back into playing it, and am making a level pack, which hopefully will bring people to this site. XWA.net has died down ALOT, and that's kinda sad. I've posted this site on gamefaqs.com BEGGING people to get their lazy butts over here, i posted at jediknight.net too, and right now i'm off to make a HUGE announcement about the Roguesquadron.net forums. I asked them if it would be possible for me to update the pics of the week, since i got Rogue Squadron 3D, and why the site shut down. I'll never leave these forums. They have so many good memories, and Rogue Squadron is the best Star Wars game there is to play. No matter what X-Wingalliance.net has to say about us.
