Guest Gold Squadron Leader
I have received the second version of the modified Bundle.002 file from LukA_YJK. This newer version scans for possible passcodes starting with the one you enter, plus it scans for those of the same length of the one you entered to start. I have completed initial test and it successfully found the valid code CREDITS so it appears to work as intended. Good work LukA_YJK! What this means is we can easily stop the search and resume later from the stopping point. More importantly, we can divide the work among many people to cover more ground and not have to waste time searching same combinations as everybody else. This will require coordination and a central command to receive sections to scan and report results. LukA_YJK asked me to head this effort since he doesn't always have easy internet access so can only check in now and then. Therefore, if you are interested in joining this effort please reply on this thread and include your system specs. You don't have to have the latest P-IV but the faster the processor the better. For instance I am running a P-III 550 MHZ. Only other requirement is you must have the PC version of RS installed. ------------------ Ties are flies, swat'em! Guest Gold Squadron Leader
OK, four is definitely better than one. I'll get the file ready to send to you via e-mail as a zip file. LukA_YJK doesn't have it available for download for his site yet, but should soon. It will only be about 72KB zipped, but your e-mail must allow attachments. I'll send it to the e-mail address listed in your profile unless you tell me otherwise, you can let me know your preferred address by e-mailing me. Couple of things to do in preparation: 1)Make backup copy of file Bundle.002 in folder C:\Program Files\LucasArts\ROGUE or whichever directory you installed RS. 2) Create a new, fresh player profile in RS to use for testing. This will protect your existing profiles from possible corruption. Don't worry, the modified Bundle.002 file hasn't corrupted my RS game yet. The worst that has happened is I had to reboot when game locked up and wouldn't exit. Therefore you should have nothing else running when testing except RS. I'll include instructions on how to use the passcode searching Bundle.002 and your assignments in my e-mail to you. Good luck Rogues! ------------------ Ties are flies, swat'em! Guest Rogue15
AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! A 486 wouldn't handle anything, especially not Rogue Squadron 3d! How on earth can you even play Rogue Squadron 3D on a 486?? Do you got a 3D accellerator? I used to have a 486 until i got a nice Pentium 3, now the evil machine is in a seperate room freezing to death!
