Guest Rogue
Oh sure now you're a regular but later you'll be gone (mwhahahaha ) but seriously you 2001 Guys posta lot and all because ther's lots of people here, but when I was hear I came here all the time perfecting my sig, making fun of people, getting maked fun of, and starting the second best thread( the first was Imladil's Daily Zen thread, mine was Messages). And what do you mean I'm not a regular, when a worker for a job goes on a long vacation, doesn't he still have his job, hence he is a regular. When a boss leaves on vacation, that doesn't mean he doesn't control the business. About that Hrs and OLD thing Imladil has A LOT more in than you, same w/ The Master, R15, and me Rogue. I just don't post a lot

Guest Rogue9
there was a point where this place was very wuiet when I was here, so I made my friends join... , when came when it was dead and help bring it back to life, you left when it was dying abandoning it in its time of need I have know wish to fight about this subject though, so if we could get back to the X-Wings being Better than A-Wings I would Appretiate it... Guest Moff_Kioet
in the one level i was playing yesterday in xwa, i had a choice of either tha a-wing, or the x-wing, i chose the a-wing, cause it could catch up with the bombers fast, right? well it did, and also got blasted out of the sky! so next time i chose the x-wing, and on one try, i won. Guest Redwing
He's just lying about winning with the X-Wing because he thinks everyone will believe him cuz he dissed the A-Wing in the same post. And since when can you craft switch in XWA regular missions? ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge. Guest Imladil
So why was Muff Kite unable to perform as well in an A-wing? Simple understanding of weapons, my friends. I am now going into metaphor mode... A starfighter is like a sword. Each different kind of sword is meant to be used in a different martial context; the saber is for use on horseback, the rapier is for use of the point, while the samurai sword is mostly good for slashing...etc. When you learn to use a particular kind of sword, the moves and style of footwork that work best with it become second nature--this is the whole point (pardon the pun) of training with a weapon. Say I study the samurai sword and become a master swordsman* who can best any other in that kind of fighting. Then, one day, I enter a duel with an English diplomat, who chooses two thin duelling rapiers as the weapon of choice. My years of experience with the one kind of sword will be of little use when applied to the other...and the Englishman will win. Shish-kabob samurai. Now. Let's take this principle into the arena of starfighters. An A-wing is intended to get there first--it is much like a rapier in this way. An X-wing is a heavier, stronger vehicle--much like a samurai sword. Just as the rapier will have trouble blocking a samurai sword effectively, an A-wing will have trouble outgunning an X-wing in a head-to-head engagement. Conversely, the samurai sword will have trouble stopping the rapier's lightning-straight thrust...just like an X-wing will have a snowball's in hell of ever catching the roadrunnerish A-wing when it comes to interception, hitting missile turrets, or any other tactical starfighter application where striking first is the determining factor. Of course, there will always be a need for X-wings. Someone has to protect our Y-wings... *It's my story, and I'm telling it. ------------------ 'Rieekan, this is the commander! Guest Lt Cracken
But thge slahsing power of the X-Wing can be used in more situations, and more versitile. I think that's why most people like the x-wing. it's that balance of speed, firepower, and toughness that people like. I myself like the B-Wing. true, we don't get there fast, but we'll blow the crap outta anything that gets in our way.
Guest Redwing
Well at least we can agree that the B-Wing is superior to the Y-Wing. Imladil, I like your analogy; it does make sense. ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge. Guest General_Kioet
i'm not lying!!!! It's one of the missions near the end, you can dock with the liberty (by tractor beam, go to its hangar), and you can switch your craft, and get more missiles!!! you can do this in ANY level too i think, the missiles anyways, i think once you beat the level, you can play it again with any craft and can switch in the middle of the level. it's pretty neat, you can tell where battle for naboo got the idea. Guest General_Kioet
i only use the x-wing when i absolutely need it, i like the a-wing, but an a-wing vs. an imperial star destroyer???
Guest Lt Cracken
It is true. when you're in the hanger, see those two boxes at the bottom right and left? those are your ship and loadout screens. there you can choose your ship and missle loadout. you navigate those menues by either the [ and ] keys or the arrows, and swtict between the two with the tab key. i think. it's been awhile. (yes, i DO have XWA!)
Guest Imladil
An A-wing against a star destroyer? Someone hasn't watched the Battle of Endor in ROTJ very closely... The A-wing's speed make it almost impossible for the SD's lasers to track me. I switch off my laser and shield capacitors, so I have full power to the engines, then make my heavy rocket run with impunity as they shoot feebly in my direction. Star destroyers are fairly easy to take out in this fashion. Frigates, though, are different...they are so heavily armed that making a high-speed run on one is still dangerous, due to the sheer amount of green s**t they put out. Guest General_Kioet
heavy rockets on an a-wing?! now that's REALLY cheating! yeah, i guess you're right, they did destroy like 3 destroyers with those a-wings, didn't they? but if there's capital ships, they like to concentrate more on them than fighters, if there's just fighters, it's almost impossible to destroy one.
