How To Fight Imperial Walker

Guest tz

We always lose against the Imperial Walker. We don't know how to beat it. Must we use the tow cable? If so, can anyone give tips about how to use it successfully.

Thanks. We are stuck at this point - we cannot proceed further! Help!!!!

I think what Ioan was trying to say is, "yes, you must use the tow cable. This is the only way!

Some tips are: fly down close to the walker's legs, and when you hear Luke say "activate harpoon", hit your secondary-weapons button to release your tow-cable. The cable will connect automatically; you don't need to aim or guide it or anything.

Once the harpoon connects, your point-of-view will change to an above-view (meaning you will see your speeder from above, rather then seeing it from inside). This is to help you fly around the walker's legs more acurately. You need to go around it 3 times to take it down.

Now something terribly annoying will happen to you for probably the first 12 times you try to take down the walker: As you're flying around him, and getting oh-so-close to finally felling the blasted mechanical beast, your cable will all of a sudden disconnect, and you'll go spinning off into oblivion filled with murderous rage! But don't worry, after some practice you *will* be able to finally take the thing down.

Some tips to keep one from spinning off into oblivion are: Stay as close to the walker's legs as possible when flying around it! This means staying low to the ground, and using your left/right break (depending on which way around it you are flying) to make your turns sharper and tighter.

Some argue that going slow and steady is the safest way; others will say that speed is the key. I'll leave it to you to decide which way's best.

Hope this helps!"

The AT-AT CAN be brought down with blaster fire alone. Take several strafing runs at its head/neck region, and eventually the whole walker will explode in a ball of white light. Try this in the Imperial Contruction Yards, where the AT-ATs can be taken down at your leisure.

You lie! You can't blow up a walker unless you've already tripped it...at least, not in any game I've ever played...

Yes you can. You need ten or more(So sue me, I didn't count) really long strafing runs to the body or 2 really long strafing runs to the head. Try it on Imperal Construction Yards. A fun thing to do is level (destroy, you know like level a city) Corellia. Almost all the buildings can be destroyed EXCEPT for a couple of buildings in the area you get the bonus. I got a friendly save of 0.

your way stinks. the funnest way is to use the a-wing and just use rapid-fire advanced concussion missiles, and hold secondary fire down.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Gameshark...how does that work anyway? Do you have to get a different version of RS for it to work?

Hi...i'm new here.

I find the best way to fell a Walker is to get in close and when Luke says 'Activate Harpoon', activate it. Remember Luke's words from TESB, "Stay tight and low!". Apply this tactic (stay low and near to the Walker). I find that holding the brakes helps me, too.

If all else fails, remember that Practice makes Perfect. After a few tries, you'll get the hang of it.

I also found out today that you can also (as redwing says) destroy it with blaster...although it takes an awful long time. It looks as if that armour is not to strong for blasters!

the easiest way to take one down is with the speeder, takes about 20 bombs to destroy one. But who cares, flying an a-wing underneath an at-at is so cool!
