Guest Rogue15
Duga informed us that IGN posted a preview of a new Lucas title, Rogue Leader. Rogue Leader is the sequel to Rogue Squadron. Here's a bit of what was said: "Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron 2, according to NextGen Magazine, follows the exploits of longtime franchise hero Luke Skywalker as he pilots through some of the most classic areas of the Star Wars trilogy, including the Death Star, Hoth, and an asteroid field to name just a few. The game continues with the arcade-esque control mechanics of the original Rogue Squadron, but takes them to a new level of interaction with the ability to command ship wingmen with the GameCube controller's D-Pad." Guest Gold Squadron Leader
I'm with Redwing on this one. They just have to port RL:RS2 to the PC. This game is gonna rock! But no way am I buying a console system. I bet they are going to do the port, but it may be several months after GameCube's release before it will be ready. My guess 2nd quarter 2002. If for some strange reason they don't make for the pc, I WILL kill them. Kill them all! ------------------ Gold Squadron. The brightest star of the Rebellion Fleet! Guest Gold Squadron Leader
According to the screen shots you can guess as to some of the new features: 1) Space combat (obvious) 2) B-Wing (obvious) 3) multi-ship squadron control (Inferred from game title and UI control in upper left of screen: Form, Guns, Fighters, Flee) 4)3D radar (obvious from new symbols with lines above or below dot. Better than current dim or bright) 5) UI on lower right. What is that? ------------------ Gold Squadron. The brightest star of the Rebellion Fleet! Guest The Master
I have a bit of info that may lighten your bulb, Gold Squadron Leader. The game Cube is to be released this coming November. (Hopefully they don't advance that date AGAIN!)
Guest Rogue15
hey, tm, wouldn't we rather wait longer for a system of more quality? i definetely would. I don't think Rogue Leader would port well to pc unless you have a pentium 4 and up. the framerate would be ugly!
Guest The Master
True, but they have worked on the system for a good long time now, it looks pretty awsome according to the pics, but we don't know if they tell truth until the system comes out, now shall we? Guest Gold Squadron Leader
Hello Master: If Gamecube doesn't come out till Thanksgiving, then we may not see a PC version until Summer 2002 or later I bet. Depends when they start working on the port. I really don't how long it will take to move over, since GC is a new platform. Rogue15: I wouldn't be surprised if the system requirements for PC version were high, but not that high. They would limit themselves marketwise too much, even next year. I think my PIII-550 will be fine to run RL:RS2. If it wasn't for some reason, I would upgrade my PC hardware and software before buying a game console. Even if it cost more. It looks like we still have a long wait ahead before we'll know. Bummer. ------------------ Gold Squadron. The brightest star of the Rebellion Fleet! Guest Redwing
The overlays are set up: Wingmate Commands-----------------------Radar Indicator Shield/Hull Strength Indicator-----------Secondary Weapon System This game looks EXCELLENT. I can't believe they're throwing it away on a CONSOLE! (Oh wait, yes I can... ) Regardless, I can't waste money on a whole new console system just to get one game, regardless how good it is. ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. Guest The Master
Wow, this game does look awsome. But Rogue 9, think about it, why buy the system and only get ONE game? It is sensless, I am sure there will be plenty of other good games put out with the system that will fill your heart with joy. You should take a little look in and check out the other games that are planned to come out with the system.

Guest Rogue9
I usally buy a console system because one game interests me, then I get a few more and neglect the system as soon as it comes out for my computer.
Guest Gold Squadron Leader
But Master, I don't want a console! I know there will be many great games for the GC, but I have grown beyond consoles in my powers of The Force. Besides, I need all my spare money to buy more goodies for my beloved PC: CD-RW, digital camera, scanner, etc. There's none left for a separate gaming platform. I'm not too worried though, I'm almost certain they will release a PC version of RL:RS2. It's just a question of WHEN? ------------------ Gold Squadron. The brightest star of the Rebellion Fleet! Guest Redwing
I agree, Gold Leader, and actually I don't mind waiting this time.
