Guest The Master
Well, he is a MOD now. He should be happy, and let me control the BGMs. I do have one of the best sites on the net you know.

Guest Ikhnaton
I see how it is, you ingrate! i gave you this job not that long ago and look what you do with it! you throw it away! what's the matter Col. Sanders? Chicken?? anyway, just so that the correct history is know, the BGMs were invented by a former admin of these forums and XWA known as Lt. Guilo. At one point in time, there was an additional rank of Jedi Master above and beyond the Junior Member and Member statuses. Guilo would post an inflated picture of the Palpatine smiley on the occassion of their 600th post. He has long since gone his own way to other things, but he passed the torch to myself before he left. It eventually spread to RS from XWA over time. Because I had decided to step down as an active admin some time ago, I passed the torch to Imladil, because I saw a creativity in him that would make for some very interesting yet fitting masks. Rogue9, carry on this tradition with dignity and honor. Remember to be tasteful, appropriate, yet humorous in your choice of BGMs. It was usually the tradition to choose a non-animated smiley face, and if possible, one that is star wars related. However, the supply of SW smileys dwindled so then other "secular" faces had to be used. Try to remember that the whole thing should be based upon your standard yellow smiley face. Whatever is added on remains to be seen, but the smiley should be facing forward, and should try to reflect something of the recipient. In other words, it should not just be a random choice. Keep it tasteful and try to avoid the voilent or disgusting animated smileys. In fact, non-animated are preferred. There you have it. If you need some resources for smileys to use, let me know and i will send them to you. Guest Imladil
Are you joking, Ike? You don't seem to be... I just want to establish that before I blow what I'd always thought to be a good friendship.
Guest Imladil
Aw, **** it. Behold my wrath anyway. My giving the post away had nothing to do with gratitude. My access to the internet hasn't been all that reliable, since--frankly--this whole computer thing is a hobby for me, rather than a necessary part of life and vocation, and when my access is futzed I'm not compelled to repair the problem immediately. This leads to people wanting and deserving BGMs, with me out of contact with the forum for long periods of time. My solution? Pick someone who is here each and every day, ready and able to post a BGM the instant it is required. If that sounds like I don't care, I am truly sorry, but that is how it is from where I'm sitting. Also, in all honesty, I haven't been visiting this forum as much as I used to. This has nothing to do with the fine folks here...but I just haven't been. The Rogue Squadron masker needs to be, well, a fulltime Rogue. Perhaps a Rogue 9, even. I wasn't aware that he'd been ascended unto moderatorship. I might've chosen another masker in view of this, but he'll still do just fine, anyway. Congratulations, human! See how out of touch I am? I don't even know who's moderating...! Anyway. Ingrate? Grate this! *HONK! HONK!*

Guest Imladil
Awww, I'm sorry Ike. Yes, it did seem as if you were serious; rabbit-band space radio offline, sarcasm undetected. It's cool, though. I guess it touched a nerve because I do consider masking privelege to be an honor. I am still doing so at XWA...two BGMers, one for each forum. I guess my intentions here are to recognize that this is a new crop of RS.Netters, with a cohesion that they've built themselves. This forum died for awhile, then came back to life. To recognize this, I thought it might be nice to have a torch passing of some kind... *HONK! HONK!* Hee-hee-hee.
