199$ U.S., which makes it about 16,000$ CAN.

Whatever they end up promising halway along the trip. Perhaps another add-on that will never see the day? Like a yoyodine frubulator.

I doubt there will be an add-on. GC is already quite customable (not a real word) if the games allow it due to that fact it can use SD cards to save game data. If games allow you can put pictures you saved to the SD Card with your digital camera and stick your face on one of the in-game characters. Remember I said if the games allow it.

What do you have against Nintendo or GameCube?

The gerneral rundown of xbox vs gamecube is simple: If you want Nintendo games, then get Gamecube. If you want Sega and other third party games, then Xbox. Just note that the xbox is three times more powerfull than a PS2, and can plug directly into your existing broadband internet connection via an ethernet card, so instant multiplayer at high speeds. All in all, its a matter of who your devoted to. Here is a general run down of xbox stats:

Four game controller ports that allow easy multiplayer gaming and enable other peripherals, ranging from game pads to voice-activated headsets

A front-loading DVD tray

A multisignal audio-video connector that allows for easy hookup to televisions and home theater systems

An Ethernet port for rich, fast-action online gaming via a broadband connection

An NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU), delivering more than three times the graphics performance of other consoles

An Intel 733MHz processor, the most powerful CPU of any console

An internal hard drive, for massive storage of game information - a first in the console gaming industry

I wasn't *****ing, I was explaining how Nintendo of America constantly let me down during my teenage gaming years. Then I proceeded to state that I will never buy another Nintendo console again. I provided facts to back up my opinion.

Don't turn this in yet another flame war.

I just do my research. It was a tough descision between the two systems, and PS2 had some serious up-sides, but hard core gamers will want the power Xbox will provide.

Remember it's still business Kint, if they can't make money, they're not going to sell it ie. the DD drive. Had the partnership between SONY and Nintendo remained intact, we would've seen a CD thingamajig for the SNES. Business is a very unpredictable thing.

I agree with that. It's always business. I don't think Nintendo does it on purpose, but it's sure going to come back and bite them in the arse later on.

Speaking of failed business, anyone here remembers the CD-I ?

the xbox will be for the more advanced gamer, a gamer that plays games all the time, and is looking to upgrade his games and plays them alot. The Xbox hasn't been getting as much publicity as n64. Remember when it was sony playstation vs. n64? well playstation was alot more advanced, yet there weren't as many commercials as for the nintendo 64.

Anyone remember what happend to the Sega Saturn? It was identical to the playstation, except is had less games, and less publicity. Same prob with Gamecube/Xbox, only not only does xobox have more games. It has better hardware to. Tough call...

The X-box is likely the wave of the future. If you're a serious console gamer, then get it.

If you're just a simple person like me who doesn't care one bit about consoles and just wants Rogue Squadron 2, then get the Gamecube. biggrin.gif

So far as I can see, that's really the only advantage the GC has over the X-box. biggrin.gif

But the X-Box has obiwan. and lightsaber dueling. that's awesome. And besides, Luka still needs support for Rogue Squadron 3D editing.

I agree, the gamecube is just another chance for Nintendo to screw up. If they pull this off, i will be amazed. But even if they do, i have not been to impressed with the graphics engine. It just looks like a clean N64. Perhaps its just the low rez screen shots... who knows?

And for those with winamp, heres an intersting file to play:

Just click on the add button, then add an url, and paste this address into the window that pops up. Good description of nintendo proformance...

nah, ALL screenshots make a game look bad. it's only when u see the game in action (u apparently haven't seen any rogue leader trailers) can u judge upon how good the game will be. hehe. they're saying rogue leader practically maxes out gamecube's capabilities...

The game looks alright, but as far as graphics go, i'm not impressed. I'm a hard person to please, And gamecube just doesn't meet my standards. But for those who ejoy the game just for the game, It looks OK. I'm way too hardcore to ejoy it, though.

Saber1, the trailers NEVER look as good as they do on a real tv screen. biggrin.gif this is rogue squadron boards, remember that there's alot of rogue squadron fans here and could care less about what console rogue squadron 2 comes on. biggrin.gif i'm not going to ditch the xbox though, that console is sweet, but since i have all the nintendo systems, might as well get the cube.

I have only one thing to say. The X-Box is made by MICROSOFT. Did you catch that, it is MICROSOFT. You'll be lucky if the dang this doesn't freeze every 5 mins or literally blow up in your face. Plus, it will probably crash alot, just like every other micrsoft product to date, and who knows, we might even see the imfamous blue screen of death.
