Guest snooozer Posted September 3, 2001 Share Posted September 3, 2001 hi, i'm from gamefaqs.com. i'm not exactly new here as i've been registered for a while now, but i've only posted maybe 1 or 2 times. anyway, do you have all Golds in Rogue Squadron? have all Platinums in Battle for Naboo? you think you're the best, you're looking for a challenge and maybe looking to hone in on your skills before Rogue Leader comes out? read on.. there was a page for N64 games World Record Fastest Times, for all different games. the Rogue Squadron portion of the page wasnt getting many times submitted, so the person who ran the huge massive N64 site let someone else named Zyos471 take over the Rogue Squadron portion, because Zyos promised to get more people to submit times. so Zyos brought the page over to gamefaqs.com and little did he know, he got more people to submit times then he could have hoped. in case ya didnt know, us guys over at gamefaqs are the people who first found all the Platinum Medals in Battle for Naboo. we uncovered all of them within a month of the game's release, including all the stats we posted, the dozens of people we helped to get all Platinums and our unique walkthru's. so we're pretty talented. basically, any tips-of-the-trade that you have heard for Platinum Medals in BFN all came from GameFAQs. in any case, not only did we completely destroy everyone's times that were previously on the site, we narrowed down the times for Rogue Squadron so much over the past several months that even the programmers themselves would be hard pressed to comprehend our fast times. well let me cut to the chase. recently there were certain minor differences that were discovered between the PC and N64 versions of the game, so Zyos did what he had always wanted to do, which is have 2 seperate pages, one for the N64 version and one for the PC version. the PC fast times page was made, but it currently has no times on it. only THREE people have submitted times for the PC version, myself and ATATwar both from GameFAQs, and someone from here who goes by the name of Saber. well thats not his name here, but that was his name on GameFAQs. so we're calling on you guys to submit some times for the PC version to try to compete in some fast times. we know you won't beat our scores, but it'd be fun to try. and yes, that is a challenge. also when RS2 comes out, once everyone has all Golds and stuff like that, we're going to hold another Fast Times competition for that game. except because those of us at GameFAQs are so cocky and arrogant, and because we seem to be the only people who are only concerned with completely mastering the game, we're not going to compete amongst ourselves. instead we're going to challenge everyone else on the internet to compete with us. so basically for the RS2 fast times it will be the people from GameFAQs vs the rest of the internet combined, from sites such as Gamewinners.com, IGN.com and of course, roguesquadron.net. you will not beat us then and you wont beat us now, but if you at least want to get to know us since we'll be beating your butts so bad later on, now is a perfectly good opportunity. plus like I said the PC page is empty now that the N64 and PC scores have been split up, so we need more people to post their times. in the least, you could at least get your name posted on a page where everyone will see it. submitting a time is easy. if you want to submit times for the N64 version, thats cool too, but we're really encouraging people to submit times for the PC version. here's what you need: -email Zyos471@excite.com with one nice handy list of all your times. you may use the Naboo Starfighter, but any times done in the Naboo Starfighter belong in the Naboo Starfighter section (since the N-1 is technically a cheat, it gets its own section). -include the level, the ship, and your time all on one line each. -say your name (real name or alias, it doesnt matter, just whatever name you want to be called on the site) -what country or state you live in (to represent your neighborhood) -when you get your time, press F12 to make a screenshot. you dont need to email Zyos the screenshot but you will eventually be asked to submit your screenshots for the PC version once the screenshots page is put up. anyway I hope some of you consider this Challenge, and yes, I was hoping that by insulting you guys at how much you all suck at RS would actually spark up some competitive spirit in you all and make you get off your butt and try for some Rogue Squadron Fast Times. please consider what I have said. snoozer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest snooozer Posted September 3, 2001 Share Posted September 3, 2001 ATATwar goes here, but is not from here. he is a resident at gameFAQs.com, just ask him, i'm sure he's proud to say it. in fact HE was the one who suggested we try to get you guys to submit times. me and ATATwar both hung out at the BFN and RS boards at gamefaqs and we both signed up here around the same time frame. now granted you guys arent really going against us this time around, its more like everyone for themselves (with me beating everyone else very badly). the reason is because over these few months we've had a "friendly competition" which wasnt friendly at all. it was more like extreme war. so we said for RS2 we'd rather go against the rest of the internet instead of going against each other. so when the RS2 fast times start, we are going to be invading your boards, trash talking you down until you are so pissed that you NEED to beat us. then we will have some good ol' fun. but like I said, now is a perfect opportunity to tune up for all that, and get to hate our sick times now so it wont be such a shock when we totally rule at the RS2 fast times later. just remember, when you email Zyos471@excite.com, include THE SHIP you used next to each LEVEL and YOUR TIME. also make sure you press F12 to take a SCREENSHOT of your time when you get it. good luck. ------------------ ::ELITE ROGUE::{//=|ROYAL DEFENDER OF NABOO|=\\}:: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest snooozer Posted September 3, 2001 Share Posted September 3, 2001 sorry, double post. and you havent beat crap. trust me, submit your times now before the shock of seeing *our actual* records on the page tomorrow or whatnot. check out those screens for yourselves. and I havent answered questions cuz you havent asked any that need an answer. yea passcodes and secrets and all this other stupid crap is good and all, but i'm more concerned with completely mastering a game and knowing that I am the best RS pilot around until you can beat our times (submit them too) then shut yer yapper and keep in mind I am brand new to the PC version. I got it a month ago but I didnt really start playing it til this past Saturday. thats when I noticed the minor differences between the N64 and PC versions as other people have mentioned before. in any case I am not a PC gamer and so I wouldnt know the answers to any of those RS PC types of questions. but i still manage to beat all your butts pretty badly. and i wouldnt start trying to trash talk us until you at least get some times for yourself with screenshots, or until you've even seen our times in the first place. Guest snooozer Posted September 3, 2001 Share Posted September 3, 2001 you dont need a Gold. and I fixed the Double post. read it. and those times I posted were GUIDELINES. in most cases they are actually anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes slower than most of our times. so i wouldnt try to trash talk. i just figured that if you guys saw our real times you'd be too intimidated to even try to compete, or you'd just think we're outright lying. which we are not. anyway happy gaming. I memorized the locations of the scanners, and held the speed down, and destroyed all the scanners, like they'd get destroyed a second b4 they otherwise would've scanned me, and when i had them ALL destroyed, the wingmen were still a ways back, and i got a mission failure because of them! The only messages I'm seeing are, "why didn't I save my super-duper time", "I bet I can beat you one on one", "This is so dumb, I could beat those times with one hand tied behind my back", yada, yada, yada. So is anyone going to take the challenge. I see a lot of talk, but nobody backing it up. I mean, there's gotta be one person on this board who is serious about Rogue Squadron. I mean, to the people who say that "if other people come to play, then I'll join in", why won't you be the one's who start, and let everyone else follow. I mean, the ratio of PC Rogue Squadron players of GameFaqs to RS.net is almost 10 to 1. Surely some of you guys would be able to do this. It's really a lot of fun. I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks, and haven't been able to play as much, but you should have seen the heat around June. Everyone at our board would check in every hour just to make sure no one beat their record. If you're that good, then why won't you show who the best Rouge Squadron player really is? It's pretty nice going to a web page, seeing the top ten times, and then seeing that your time is FIRST. It gives makes you feel real nice, knowing you're the bomb and no one can touch you. The reason we are asking you is because, I mean, come on... what's a "Fastest Time Page" If we don't let everyone else join in. We wanna make sure these are the fastest times ever. (And for you guys who have had the game for a couple of years, surely you gotta be able to try). So how bout it? Anyone gonna play, or are you just going to brag about how "good" you are.
