Guest Old-One Posted September 9, 2001 Posted September 9, 2001 I've had to upgarde to Win 2000 Pro. I did a "clean" install including Direct X 8a and reloaded Rogue Squadron. The game reports that it cannot find Direct X and will not load and run. I've confirmed that Direct X 8a is indeed loaded on the system. Is there a trick / patch to make Rogue Squadron look for the Direct X files in the right place? I've been to the Lucas web site but can nevr get into the support or downloads. Either they are so busy I can't gt in or their website is broken. Any advice is appreciated.

Guest Rogue15 Posted September 9, 2001 Posted September 9, 2001 I have Dirext X 8.0a too, Windows 98, and rogue squadron works perfect! ------------------ If you think like your enemy, you're no better than your enemy.
Guest edlib Posted September 10, 2001 Posted September 10, 2001 It's more of a 2K thing than a DX8 thing. Win2000 was never intended to be installed on home PC and running games. It will always be a headache getting it to work that way, but it can be done. Get used to a lot of tweaking in the future.
