Guest S1DC
You can;t compare Star Trek and Star Wars... they represent 2 diferent time periods. Star Trek is an excellent series, and is technicaly accurate. Star Wars is also very accurate, and is the most popular SCIFI item on earth. This controversy is as fruitful as the Mac Windows argument. ------------------ Saber One Kyougu Issanni Need a unique signature? Custom Lightsaber Anims by S1DC Technologies!!! Guest Redwing
Ummm, S1DC? ST is not very technically accurate at all... ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. Guest Rogue9
i beg to differ having read many in depth books explaining the texhnology of Start Trek much of it is more reasonable than the SW equalvilent.
Guest Redwing
No, no, no Niner, that's exactly what I'm griping about. ST tries to explain so much to make it sound "cool" and sci-fi" and really impressive when alot of it (not ALL but plenty) is really just a load of words thrown together (that make scientist groan ) SW on the other hand doesn't try explaining things away, thus they can't be wrong...example: no one can prove a hypermatter reactor can't exist in the real world, because we don't know anything about it except what it does (powers the Death Star) If a hypermatter reactor existed in ST, there would be some weird pseudo-technical explanation for it, which would most likely be impossible to reconcile with reality. And what do you mean by more reasonable...? ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. Guest S1DC
All the info created in Star trek is for entertainment purposes, to create a certain environment in which the characters of the stroy can be portrayed acurately. but not acurately in the real world, acurately in the fictional world. SW bases its technology on the ideas of what could be in some other reality, some other scientific world. ST portrays things in a futuristic manner, using ideas not yet discoverd. We cannot really compare the two types of rechnolgies.. after all, who has ever been to a "galaxy a long time ago, far far away", or "places no man has been before"? Who are we to say which is more accurate? ------------------ Saber One Kyougu Issanni Need a unique signature? Custom Lightsaber Anims by S1DC Technologies!!! Guest Helix
Star Trek is a bit to old for me.
