Guest Helix
...but the Earth has 2 things in Star Wars. 1, you may have heard of it, is the scramjet. It requires no fuel and has no moving parts. All it is is a engine that sucks in air and burns it for fuel, but it has to be traveling at mach 2 for it to work. 2, is, your not going to belive this, a Ion Engine It isn't in service yet but it uses nuclear power, just like a submarine, but with jets. Since nuclear energy doesn't need to be refueled for about 5 years or so, imagen how far we would be able to travel in space. It also would be able to make a plane go really fast. Over and Out. ~{H ------------------ MICA you'll die from it. I swear...
Guest Rogue3
Hey Helix, we have an ION engine already, we have placed it on a probe, it has been shot onto space and has been in space for about oh 2 years, and its not as fast as our rocket powered space engines btw! it just last longer fuel wise hey also did u watch HYPERSPACE on TLC? ------------------ I was born in the shadows, and in the shadows I must go; to find bliss and joy. Guest Rogue3
Hey how much of a post count do u need to get a BGM? btw ------------------ I was born in the shadows, and in the shadows I must go; to find bliss and joy.
Guest Helix
You get a BGM at 600 posts, then at a 1000 than every 500 after that. Although you rogue3 desirve a BGM now I would give you one but I'm not a masker and I only know one good smiley site. Plus, it wouldn't be a authentic BGM. Guest Redwing
Finally, we've pounded it into his head. BTW SW ion engines are probably much different than our ion engines. But yeah, the *real* scramjet is the same thing as in the SW universe.
Guest Lynk Former
problem with nuclear powered space crafts is that if the space craft explodes in the atmosphere than we're all screwed... ------------------
Guest Helix
Actually, no were're not screwed. A nuclear submarine doesn't go nuclear when it is destroyed. I don't know much about nuclear energy except that it is the most cleanest fuel in the world and it doesn't need to be replaced for a long time. ------------------ MICA you'll die from it. I swear...
