Guest snooozer
if you don't check out these pics, you're just a waste. here I am showing you guys a couple pics of levels you've NEVER SEEN BEFORE, trying to help out fellow RL/Factor 5 enthusiasts like myself, and well, there's really no point, except that you should really check out these pictures. they are scans from a magazine so the only other way you're going to see them is if you wait til next week when the issue hits the stands and go out and buy it yourself. also, the only way you're going to see more pics from this same article is if some of you guys are interested in it in the first place. i only put up 3 pics for now, but I will put up more if you guys show any interest. maybe i'll also put up some of the article itself so you guys can check out the new info on Rogue Leader. the article itself is just as mind blowing (if not more so) than the pics themselves. Rogue Leader just got way better (if you can even believe that). ------------------ ::ELITE ROGUE::{//=|ROYAL DEFENDER OF NABOO|=\\}::

Guest S1DC
Impressive... but i want to see those in normal resolution, in the run-time environment. I like to see the graohics retain thier looks and not run choppy on the GC processor... Whats looks with power? Has anyone really looked into comparing the stats between xbox, PS2, and GC? *remebers* Oh, i forgot, this is not a question of quality or proformance, its a question of which one will have Rogue Leader... ------------------ Saber One Kyougu Issanni Need a unique signature? Guest snooozer
um, those ARE GAMEPLAY graphics. someone said: "...and I'd not like to see them run choppy on the GC's processor.." um, what have you been smoking? seriously, this game runs flawless at 60 frames per second. how is that choppy???? and about comparing the GC, Xbox, PS2 stats, let me tell you, I am a bit of a techhead, and I definitely know a bit about the way systems work. there's always people who know more, no matter how much you know, but I have a very good understanding of the systems (mostly GC, i have read a lot about it, and the more I read, the more impressed I am). it really is cutting edge technology. some of the things it is doing with the 1T-SRAM being embedded in the Flipper really is ground breaking. anyway, I can guarantee you the GCN is technically superior to the PS2. I doubt the PS2 could even run Rogue Leader, let alone running it choppy (but Rogue Leader does not run choppy on the GCN so i dont see the point). Guest snooozer
as far as the Xbox goes, well it is somewhat similar to the GCN's architecture but also very different. the Xbox and GC are much more closely matched as far as technial abilities go, they both have advantages and disadvantages. however the GC definitely has fewer bottlenecks. maybe it should be YOU who checks out the specs for each system. and anyway, what makes you guys think these pics arent taken from gameplay????? well, they are. maybe i should post up some more pics to show you. but seriously, why do you think these pics arent from gameplay? at first, i thought these pics were completely fake, but now that I know they're not (they are in EGM's November issue), i still can't believe the graphics, but i know they're from gameplay. Guest snooozer
sorry to post again, but do you think they are FMV or something? thats funny because Factor 5 said in that EGM article that the only FMV in the game would be taken from the MOVIES themselves, yep the actual Star Wars movies. for example, at the end of the Death Star level, they're going to have the Death Star explosion from the Star Wars Special Edition movie, as FMV, except mixed in with real-time footage of the ships in the game flying away from it. its supposed to be seamless. anyway, why dont you think these pics are from gameplay???????????? did you even look at all of them? anyway, the only "FMV" if you will, is the intro scene to the game, the one where the big squadron of X-wings and Y-wings fly's by the planet Yavin. everything else in the game is modeled from the in-game graphics engine. Guest S1DC
This is a futile as comparing Mac to PC... no one knows how either systme will proform yet. stats and figures are nice, but i've seen systems crash and burn that, by the numbers, should have done great. Its all a matter of devotion. every snot nosed little kid on the face of america wants to get a gamecube.. they could care less about what it can do or whats its frame rate is. I am a serious MPer, thats why i like the xbox as oposed to GC. GC just does not hold the same MP promises, just because i won;t be able to play my hardcore MP shooters on it. And, i spend less cash if i buy my xbox with its MP componets built in, as well as DVD built in, and hard drive. The graphics of the GC are not bad, not at all. but thats not the issue. Its the processing speed. I realize it has good speed, but based on whos word? GC enthusisats and creators? I want to see a Sega or Playstation mag say they love it. Chances are i'll buy a GC with my xbox... i'm a gamer, if theres a game, i'll play it. who cares what system its on? I mean, who can argue with me when i say that the orginal Atari, Sega, and Nintendo systems are still the best? ------------------ Saber One Kyougu Issanni Need a unique signature? Guest snooozer
again, please remind me how Rogue Leader runs choppy on the GC's processor? it runs at a locked 60fps. no Xbox game runs at that framerate. Halo ran at 15fps at E3 and they said it will run at a locked-and-solid 30fps by the game's release. now what Gamecube game runs choppy again? EDIT: no Xbox game of that style runs at that framerate. although I cant say I know of one Xbox game that runs at a locked 60fps, i'm sure there are some. but none that are full 3D games with massive 3D levels, where you have action going on not only in front, behind, and to the left and right of you, but also above and below you as well.
