Guest Wraith 5
Well he got hit by a laser shot..(From TIES or Turbolasers) And he thougt he could hold his snubfihgter.. but he didnt and crashed in to the Death Star. That what happens... But what i read in the books about Porkins is that he was well appreciated by every member in the red squadron.. and Wedge says some great things about him in the books... But that is what i say... maybe somebody got another explanation. ------------------ Your the victim of Kell Tainer.
Guest Rogue15
he relied to much on some stuff from his fighter, and when it malfunctioned, he couldn't tell, and didn't push eject in time. ------------------ A wise moff controls through a fear of force, rather than actual force itself. Guest Rogue15
it would've been easier for him to just click the edit button on his first topic, and add the rest of these questions, instead of posting a whole bunch of them. That way, the topic would've last longer... ------------------ A wise moff controls through a fear of force, rather than actual force itself. Guest Lynk Former
I think Porkins dies three times... now wait just keep reading... He dies once is the Battle of Yavin and then in Return of the Jedi, in the Battle of Endor a guy who looks exactly like Porkins gets shot down. But wait there's more! In episode I there is a fat pilot guy that looks like Porkins! He dies as well! If you don't believe me then go watch Ep 1, 4 and 6 now. You'll see that i'm right! ------------------
Guest Evil Spock
...And how many times have you 'died' in a Star Was battle? Unless you're Roger Ramjet from beyond the twenty-first century, I bet it's been more than once! ------------------ "Beware the bearded one." Guest Kyle d'Tana
He was hit from a TIE laser or a turbolaser.he thought, that he can hold the X-Wing, but he couldn't. He was a really good pilot in the rogue squadron, and the leader, wedge and luke(i think) says well things abouit him...
Guest Wade Vox
But there would be no point ejecting, anyway. Whats he gonna do? Run to the exaust point, jump in, commandeer a fighter and escape?
Guest edlib
Well, I'm not sure if this is worth bring up at this point... but the entire Battle over Yavin dogfight footage is almost a complete lift, frame-for-frame, of a temp reel that George Lucas put together of WWII movie dogfight footage. There was most likely a scene in one of those old movies where a plane was hit, was told by his buddies to bail out, said he could hold it together,.. then BOOM! GL was most likely inspired by something like that, and put it in the movie,.. even though ejecting out over the Death Star doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Guest Wraith 5
Why are you say that about star wars edlib. You know in those days they had nothing to work with so i find it very very good footage. and yes he copied it all from some german movie with planes but instead of planes he uses x-wings..... I think it is cool.. Like he said in other parts... 'Lucas uses things from the past to make the future' And i find that very cool. ------------------ Your the victim of Kell Tainer. Guest edlib
Uh,.. I never said it was a bad thing. It's just a fact. I like the idea myself. GL took a lot of ideas from other films and incorperated them in a new and really cool way.
