Guest Keiran_Halcyon
After reading all the books of the X-Wing series I have found a minor mistake in the game. Do you Know what it is? If you do not, I'll tell you 3rd of DEC. Come on Rogue Squadron fans! ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Lynk Former
The game isn't based on the X-Wing books, they're based on the comic books... so that means there will be some mistakes definately... ------------------
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
Sorry, but the comic books start after the Batte of Endor(as the novels). See: Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron #1 The Rebel Opposition (Part 1 of 4) Written by: Michael A. Stackpole & Mike Baron Pencilled by: Allen Nunis Inked by: Andy Mushynsky Cover by: Dave Dorman Wedge Antilles is a combat-hardened X-Wing pilot, one of the only fliers to survive the missions against both Death Stars. After those two assignments and his post as leader of Rogue Squadron, you'd think he'd seen everything. But when he heads a rescue and retrieval for a downed man on the planet Mrisst, he finds something he'd never expected: a culture that hates the Empire... and hates the Alliance even more! See it at: http://www.darkhorse.com/products/pg_profile/sku_94432/sec_search/index.html Anyway, it is not a story or timeline mistake, it is the name of a character. (a clue) ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Rogue15
would that be umm perhaps baron fel and kasan moore?
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
Nope, Fel's TIE Interceptor Squadron is called 181st and Kasan's is called 128th. Try again! ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Rogue15
hmmm...name of character...would that be umm....Hobbie?
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
Nope... What's wrong with Hobbie? If you mean that in the comics or books he doesn't appear, the answer is that he was in command of another squadron after leaving the Rogues. ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Lynk Former
...wow?... Hang on... where did I hear that it was based on the comics?... ------------------
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
One last clue!!! It has something to do with 16th level (Calamari) Come on rogues! ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Rogue15
oh. easy. r2 stopped the devastators. and luke skywalker was in charge, not wedge antilles. am i right?
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
I think you're right (about the R2 thing, he discovered the way of destroying the Devastators, but this can be forgiven because the level cannot explain and last all the comic)but I believe Luke left the Rogues and any military position sometime after the Battle of Endor. Anyway it was not what I was thinking of. The next reply will be the solution so try to answer it and stay tuned! ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Rogue15
oh, would it perhaps be wedge's R5 unit, Mynoch, it sounds like he says 'Rhynoch'..
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
You are getting close! But it is not the answer yet. I'll give it at 2:00 PM. C'mon! ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Rogue15
ooooooohhhh.....hmmm...wedge's r5 unit is an R2 unit in the game!!!! am i right?!?!?!? ------------------ |Rank: Trainee| Wins: 3 Losses:
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
Sorry but it isn't. (I checked this half an hour ago because I suspected that too, but if you remember, someone says "Sir, my R2 just...") Well the response is (drums......) That during that time Wedge's R5 unit was not called MYNOCK, it was called GATE (I recall that he wiped his memory because he got fed up of Mynock's yells-which give him his name and renamed it). Simply as that. (Well, I cannot believe our friend S1DC has not answer this question, after saying he knew ALOT of RS ) (no offense, just a joke) ------------------ I, JEDI
Guest Rogue15
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah sorry, i can't help it. lol Mynoch is called Gate AFTER X-Wing: Rogue Squadron. Battle of Calamari happened BEFORE that. ------------------ |Rank: Trainee| Wins: 3 Losses:
Guest Keiran_Halcyon
Sorry but you are mistaken! The X-Wing series start three years after the battle of Endor. Mynock obtains his new name in the 5th book-Wraith Squadron. Then stars the Warlord Zsinj offensive before the book "Courtship of Princess Leia" (4 years after the ROTJ) and the Dark Empire Comics hapen after the Grand Admiral Thrawn offensive and Before the Jedi Academy trilogy (it means 6 years after ROTJ) lol Sorry (I have just remembered that in the game, main title, episode IV, it says "more than a half decade has passed since the Battle of Endor...") ------------------ I, JEDI [This message has been edited by Keiran_Halcyon (edited December 03, 2001).]
