Since they're going to throw this in as a weapon, I say you should be able to stun stormtroopers, wear their gear, and walk around disguised as a storm trooper and infiltrate enemy camps. So you can get through some of the level this way. And they should use "passcodes" as ways to prevent you from just walking to the end of the level. So if you dress like a storm trooper, you can say walk down a few halls till you come to a guarded door where they ask you for security clearance. Naturally, you won't have the special code, and that's when you bust loose your light saber, and wreck havok.

I doubt this could be implemented at this point of development

architecture is almost complete, and levels should be designed thinking of this for it to work

I don't think it's necessarily hard to implement if the intentions were there to start with. But if they're already too far in the development, perhaps they can throw this into the expansion pack. It sure would give more incentive to use the stun baton though.

In Elite Force raven implemented a stealth mission where you found some enemy clothes and you changed and infiltrated enemy base. Same engine so it could be done too...

not a bad idea, but with jedi mind trick i dont think guards will care what ur wearing they just know not to mess with you
