Natopo
I think it would be great to make something like that but you'd need something else in that feature: You should be able to choose whether you want to accept or not. Ya know, say you're ally sends you 40 crappy units that would just take up your population limit. You should be able to choose whether you want those units. Same thing with giving other things. Just an idea. It would probably make this feature better if we put this in.
Natopo
I also agree that we should be able to use enemy technology if you capture one of the workers. like in Star Craft. It would be tons better.

Guest Stan|SCN Punk
About technologies, SWGB and AOK are truly inferior to Starcraft in this aspect. Say you converted a trooper in tech 3. Then you researched hvy trooper and repeater trooper later on. Well guess what? The converted trooper is not affected by any upgrades (including war center upgrades)! This really sucks. Same deal happens if you alter a unit's statistics with triggers.
Natopo
True. We oughta tell Gary Gaber that so that he'll have things to put in an expansion set.

Well that would be true depending on which race. Can you upgrade units that you converted if their the same race?Ya know, you can only upgrade your race's units with your race's upgrade centers. Makes sense if that's true
Guest Stan|SCN Punk
Nope, a converted unit is not affected by an upgrades whatsoever.
Natopo
That stinks. We definintly need to tell Gary Gaber. Galactic Battlegrounds would probably be more popular with that feature.
Guest Stan|SCN Punk
Well, if this can be fixed easily, it would've been fixed by AOK:TC and certainly SWGB.
Abeex
hi, im new to this and not sure if this should be posted here but can you assign your troops to guard your allies um whatever? and then wouldn that help him rebuild while letting your troops defend him without having to task them to defend yourself??? thx
Natopo
We're talking about when your ally doesn't have any workers.
Noruas
Well, in my opinion, a quick game is always a good game. One of the main strategy part of RTS games is to survive and win on single-player games. If your ally cant survive during an team-game, then its fair to call it defeat and game over. Why even bother with tranfering units, and ending up with a 5-hour long boring struggle? When you could spend that time playing others and getting better at conquering your opponents or building up defenses before they hit you? Isnt that the whole point of strategy games? If your adversary pulled out all the strategies of the book and destroyed your ally's command-center and builders - then he/she deserves the victory. Besides, SWGB already has transfer resource features; just give your ally enough before he goes beyond bankruptcy.
1MGxLeGion
well good point but some of us like the long 5 hour games and would like the "option" to be given a bot to rebuild if need be. i just think it could be made into a pre game option to choose. and when the XP comes out there is talk about letting each civ make more people than 200. so giving some one 50 guys for defense say troopers weather they suck our not the won't hamper you pop.
