scupperware and bait problem

okok, ive read all of the messages concerning this problem, but none of them exactly state the steps necessary to combine the scupperware and bait. I feel like i've tried every possible method of combination, and the game prevents me from doing so at every move. I have MI4 for the PC...does anybody out there know the *exact* steps to combine the darned scupperware and bait?

 

Or do I even use the free bait from the shoppe? can I get bait elsewhere?... HELP!! =)

 

Ive tried the following...

1) picking up the free bait, and using it on the scupperware (before I pick up the scupperware)

2) picking up the scupperware, and taking it to the bait shoppe, using it on the free bait

3) feeding the bioluminescent fish with the bait, and trying to trap them in the scupperware after the feeding (didn't work)

4) picking up both items (bait and scupperware)...but the game does not give me the option to combine two items in my inventory...or if it does, I do not know the keystroke command

 

any other helpful ideas?? thanks in advance!

press the y or u button in your inventory and combine the scupper ware with the bait. You can just pick up the bait with your hands then combine the two in the inventory.

go into your inventory then go to the scupper ware and push u then go to te fish and push u and they should combine
