EMI Text Disappears

I posted this on the Mixnmojo forums a few boards down, but I figured I should post it here too, just to be sure I'm getting the right people.

Has anyone else had this problem? Occasionally in EMI, all the text disappears. Dialogue text supplements, commands, and dialogue choices, they all disappear. This especially happens in the International House of Mojo, but pops up all over. In fact, it doesn't even show during the opening puzzle until I do that very first thing that I don't want to say as it will spoil it for certain people who don't have the game. The text also disappears after the Guybrush and Elaine unpacking movie just after the first puzzle and reappears when Timmy the Monkey approaches. Can anyone give me a tip on how to fix this? I'm running on a 3dfx Voodoo3 if it helps...

I ge the same problem, when trying to run it using a voodoo3. I don't get it however when I use my tnt II. I don't know about all the driver versions which the voodoo is running because its in my sisters comp. Can anybody post a direct http/ftp link to a download for the latest drivers for a voodoo3 3000 agp.

Also it won't run in opengl. I dont know why, I've tried the different desktop resolutions, and I've even tried altering the colour depth, but still no joy. However it runs fine in opengl and d3d alike on my tnt II. Is that one for the patch to sort out?

thanks for any help

The Lucasarts tech support guys rule. They said the problem can be solved by upgrading your Voodoo3 drivers. http://www.voodoofiles.com is too confusing for most, especially me, to do this, but surprisingly enough, the Everquest site is supplying the drivers as user-friendly as they might have been had 3dfx not given their card support to Nivdia who promptly whizzed support of it. Go here:

and pick up the flavor of the Voodoo 3 driver you prefer. There are plenty of other 3d card drivers here, so it is a good stop for anyone.
