lucas arts needs to make next game unique

Does anyone know if lucas arts is planning on making another war strategy game? Galactic Battlegrounds was a fair move by lucas arts considering the success of force commander, but galactic battlegrounds feels too much like age of empires. Even the units are similar, but with different graphics. baseing the game on a popular rts engine guarunteed it would gain attention by a lot of buyers, but it also means that everyone has already played the game for a long time. And will get bored of it rather quickly. If lucas arts made a new strategy game from the ground up, I think it would be very popular. The game would be a lot more popular. Galactic battlegrounds proves they have the ability to make half a game, if they just made their own engine to go with it, it would be a classic.

The way to go is Rebellion 2.

They had an incredible idea and turned out a pretty good game, but they could have made a GREAT game, and they should now. They can keep the same basic concept, but make a bunch of new additions. I'd like to see a more action based fighting system, and one with alot more detail and features. It shouldn't just be little green lines flying across the screen with nothing moving or going anywhere. The ships should manuver, get up close and release their lasers, not just have one laser for each ship. That way, much more strategy is involved.

And, what would be really, REALLY cool is if they took rebellion, combined it with X-wing Alliance, and then added Galactic Battlegrounds. You could manage reasources like in rebellion, when you fought ground battles you would do it in GB, and when you fought space battles it would be in XWA. The only problem.....games could easily last many days.

Rebellion was one of the BEST Star Wars games that I have ever played. The graphics were horible (even for its time) and the interface was a pain (but still better than Force Commander's interface), but the game and gameplay was simply the best.

About unquieness...Hardly anyone makes a truly unquie game. I think that SWGB was excellently made, even if it is based off AOE. I think that its a lot better than AOE myself. But even Xwing was simular to Aces of the Paciffic, and it was still a awesome game.
