Jorran Kale Posted January 9, 2002 Share Posted January 9, 2002 Besides tinkering in the original Age of Empires demo, this is the first RTS game I've ever played, and I know my tactics are really...well...crappy, for lack of a better word. Because of that, I'm coming to you, the experts on the subject, for help on finishing off the bonus mission of the Trade Federation campaign. I happily eliminated Jar-Jar, wiped out Captain Tarpals, and then get my butt handed to me on a silver platter by the Gungan Grand Army when I try to cross over the water and finish off the job. Guest Kudar Posted January 9, 2002 Share Posted January 9, 2002 Concentrate your fire on fambaa shields when you see them, your destroyer droids and mech destroyers should be able to do most of this, allowing you to keep you're other units relatively safe. keeping your destroyer droids close together allows concentrated firepower to wipe out a heck of a lot Try switching commands from agressive to stand ground. Jorran Kale Posted January 9, 2002 Author Share Posted January 9, 2002 Thanks a lot for the tips - I'll be trying them out tonight when I get home from work. I get stuck right at the point where you must cross the small creek to take out the Gungan monument. There's three or four Fambaa Shield Generators walking around, plus many, many mounted cannons (don't know the official name), plus a gaggle of those pesky ball-throwing Gungans. I just don't seem to have enough firepower when I reach that point to punch my way through their lines. I usually end up with just Darth Maul left at the end, and there's only so much he can do on his own. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jorran Kale Posted January 10, 2002 Author Share Posted January 10, 2002 Your suggestions worked perfectly, although because of my lack of skills the victory was a little more ragged than what most people would be able to pull off. I ended up killing 6 of their Heavy Mechs and 5 of their Fambaas with Darth Maul (he and 3 Medical Droids were all I had left at the end). Thanks again! Guest Vader13 Posted January 10, 2002 Share Posted January 10, 2002 There's an even easier way! Mass your forces up , but don't cross the river. Then send maul over and use him as a decoy. Make sure you get him close enough to the Gungans so they chase him, and then run him to the bottom of the screen. While the Gungans are chasing Maul, bring your army across and WIPE EM OUT!!! Young David Posted January 10, 2002 Share Posted January 10, 2002 I actually completed that last part as a hit and run mission. You can take out the Asault Mechs pretty easy with Maul. Make him do some damage, let him return and then HEAL ... when somebody follows you wipe them out with the remnants of your army ...
