Dagobahn Eagle
http://www.xwlegacy.net/ubb/Forum22/HTML/000018.html Scroll down to "CrusadeStaff" and read the following two posts. The Crusade is a multiplayer clan game that expands Star Wars gaming by allowing players to manage fleets, economy, etc. to let players go beyond the games, still without making the gaming experience harder. While you in Galactic Battlegrounds could have a Rebel vs. Imperial battle on an ice planet and say it is an imperial invasion, you you will most likely be able to have huge fleets of star destroyers, calamarian cruisers, frigates, corvettes, freighters, fighters, you name it, outside the frames of GB, and actually be able to order and prearrange the attack yourself. While there in GB were only ladders, so that fate decided who you would fight, everyone will get to fight everyone and mostly you pick when and where! Here's a thumbnail of how it's played (subject to small changes ): You start out on your homeworld with a basic setup of fleets, ships, soldiers, defense, etc. Fleet/fighter movement is issued in a seperate game engine. Let's say you want to invade the rebel planet Dantooine. You send a medium cruiser with a compliment of transports with troops and TIE Fighters to the planet, then announce that you will attack. Providing nothing gets in the way, the battle is fought on the planet with GB. You get big GB matches +outside management. About the Crusade: The Crusade was originally launched to work with the X-Wing Alliance combat space simulator. Its success caused the launch of a sequel which is as per still being played, and a third game is being planned. Clan feedback is only positive. I request you all go ahead and reply to the thread or here; Doing so will optimize the gaming experience that is the Galactic Battlegrounds Crusade! You as an individual may also get a chance to play a few times by signing up as a mercenary. Send your suggestions, questions, and positive feedback! Make the Crusade happen ! Guest God
thats just about the same idea expressed i the gb league thread (long way back). i share these ideas but am wondering what games i would need to do this and how the groups would be set up. would it be one person cantroling a clan or maybe a group. also could these multiplayer games have multiple people on each side during an invation. Dagobahn Eagle
Its clans vs. clans, as stated. You need GB and the Crusade engine (if there will be one -most likely games will be played by e-mail ). I'm signing up for any clan that is in the Crusade, and I recommend you to do the same (/shameless promotion )

Dagobahn Eagle
Its clan-based, so you'll have to check what clans are members and join that clan to be a member. You can sign up as a mercenary, though, who will most likely be featured. Mercenaries are players not in clans that take the place as substitutes for players in clans who are not present. They're useful in Space sim games with a lot of players. Whoever has suggestions, mail me at: aagew@prodigy.net (I tried to mail you, Crazy_dog, but it said that the feature had been disabled by the moderator). I'm working on a setup, though, but it'll be a while (from a couple of days to a week). It'll handle issues like space combat outside GB (with cruisers), ground combat, resource gathering outside GB, and more.
