Lord_FinnSon Posted January 24, 2002 Share Posted January 24, 2002 So, it's the same team that did pre-rendered cutscenes for EF and HereticII(I have only played demo) after all. Animation quality was excellent in my oppinion, but compression could have been a little bit better; they used Bink Video which is updated quite often, so it gets better in the course of time(BTW, JK used older Smacker Video Technology by the same company, but unlike in case of EF, you can watch these cutscenes using Rad Video Tools, which incorporates both Bink and Smacker compressors). I'm sure they will do great job, because cinematic cutscenes didn't differ too much from actual in-game visuals in EF, and added feeling like you were watching longer episode of the Voyager series. I hope they can achieve that same tingling which you get when "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." appears on the screen, and music starts to play!
