Jedi Dad
When playing against the CPU in conquest or terminate the commander game types, please fix it so the computer can NOT resign when it is getting its butt kicked. It was like this in AOE 2 as well in conquest and regeside games. It seems to me the programmers have not correctly set the conditions for victory when CPU's are involved. Chessack
In my experience, the computer resigns way, way later than I, personally, would if I were in the dire straits "he" is. I have no problem, myself, with the computer resigning when all it has left is 0 resources, 0 workers, 0 CC's, and a fortress being attacked by 60 or 70 enemy units... sure, maybe you're supposed to "terminate" the commander, but in chess you're supposed to checkmate the king, too... and most people "resign" chess games that are clearly lost. I've never felt "robbed" when someone resigns a chess game I've won handily. And I don't feel "robbed" when the CPU resigns a game it has clearly long since lost. In fact, I prefer it to the old AoE 1 style, where you had to scour the entire map for that last fishing boat in the corner, not doing anything because all the docks are gone, to get it to admit defeat. If the commander could do things like build town centers and gather resources, then I'd agree that it should never resign while he is still alive. But since the commander can't do that, resigning when it's clearly long since been over, is not a problem, IMO.
Jedi Dad
In that light, I can live with it too. Never thought of it that way. Thanks.
