Can i delete a mission I'm stuck on

I am totally technically brain dead so I hope if this is possible someone will explain it to me like I am 10--

 

here goes--

I can't get past the mission where Aeron plaants the listening device. I've tried for days and cant get anywhere and it is causing me great distress...Can I go into the XWA stuff and delete it from the mission list and skip to the next--Or, can I somehow mark it as done? I tried to hilight it and delete it but it says it is "write protected"--Any suggestions?
