I was watching them play and i felt so sorry for my self. I should have left, but i was just sitting there feeling sorry for self. It was terrible. But once i have the game in my hands i may never feel those pains again and forget how long i waited, and how hard it was.

Don't worry, i can wait ...

I can't wait!

Heres the situation for those who haven't checked for themselves. About 5 guys have been playing the game. They started out in teh "Use the Force" room. After that they moved from room to room, testing all 5 rooms that are up now, staying in each for about 20-30 min. Now they are back in "Use the Force" but there are only 2 guys now. THe host always seems to be someone by the name of "ncltest1" Also in the "Use the Force" room there are 2-3 other rooms with one person in each, a host, and the status is "waiting". None of those rooms have had playing games in them, just waiting. It seems that the people playing are zone testers or perhaps even Raven testers testing the integriy and compatability of the zone. The other guys who occupy rooms I have no idea about, they might have hacke the registry allowing them to enter, who knows.

I don't feel at all sorry for myself, I know I'll have the game soon enough...

You just have to be patient, you have to not track these people down to demand that they give you a copy, or to smash them up and then take their copy, or smash them for oubviously taunting us like that...

Must be patient, musn't kill anyone...

Who am I kidding?

Yes, when I say "testing"I mean playing but not in the way you or I would play if we had the game. It's not like they were given the game and told "here it is, now have a ball". Most likely they are playing and taking note of everything that happens for a purpose, and that purpose is most likely what I stated, to determine compatability with zone.

I'm pretty sure it must be official testing, since it can't be warez kiddies (not before the game has gone gold), but let's just say it's fake...

What would stop somebody from hacking the zone software or their registry to make it think that SOME OTHER GAME was JK2?

Like say they were really playing Quake3 or JK1 for that matter?

It could still appear to US that they're playing something else, and we couldn't join unless we had their same modifications, right?

A similar thing occured in the emulation community for kaillera (http://www.kaillera.com) where people would often come on and "play" games that weren't emulated yet (like Dreamcast games) simply by modifying rom headers so that everyday games appeared (to outsiders) to be something else.

This whole thing with the Zone has just been one long tease though, I gotta hand it to them. ; p

I re-activated my old Zone account (one of them at least) and started to go through the process, but then I realized I didn't want to download their crappy software (especially since I'm not even going to be playing there). I'll take everyone's word for it that it's there. Obviously the Zone support is intended and in place, and I'm sure the Zone fans will be pleased.

Kurgan, there is people who has hosted games, those have probably hacked the registry, and appear as waiting, because of course they can't play

Those that were playing (besides that were in room 50 to be less noticeable) were "playing", not "waiting", It even said how much time they had been playing :(

So they are really testing, no way It's some hack

The Zone security can't be THAT bad

Ew, Digl, of course they could fake that. I don't believe it's that way but that would be very easy.. from hosting a game to emulating a game being played it's like changing one line in the registry

That they were testing it would be logical, but as another poster pointed out in another thread, you can be on there playing Quake3, while to people just looking at your game, it appears you are playing "Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast."

Probably just trying to make other people jealous.
