Jordus1587246506 Posted November 14, 2001 Share Posted November 14, 2001 After playing my first day of the game, i have found out that this game is by far the most balanced ive ever seen......my first game was me vs 2 AI on hardest....i was empire and it was a struggle holding the two civs........i didnt take ground, neither did they,, it was a complete bloody massacre on one spot onthe map.........i tried flanking them but masses of towers and sheild gens thrwarted my effort.....after 2 hours of this stalemate...i finally put up enough towers and sheild gens to keep them busy long enough to pop in AT ATs. AT ST, Reapeater Troops, and Tie Defenders, with a couple cannons goin in for heavy demolition..........this attack.......while most of it was destroyed (i had 3 AT ATs left with one dark trooper inside one when it was said and done) i did however defeat them after a long hard push through their defenses........so this game is either very balanced, im a big newb....or the AI is very very improved. DarthTenor Posted November 15, 2001 Share Posted November 15, 2001 About the AI. Yeah I guess there is an improvement. there seems to be a bit more response defensivley for the CPU. But Alas it's still funerable to an early attack. Of couse I'm playing moderate difficulty right now. I think they are better at the hard and a=hardest. That is why the death toll is so hight in this game its becaues of those scenarios where, "ooh..we brought 15 air defense guys but now there all dead, and they still got aircraft bombing the crap out of us and nobody else can do anything aobut it...oooh we're dead!" or "aaaah...we brought 8 pummels but now they are all destoryed and that fortress is still cuttin us in half...ahhhhh!". It is for this reason that no matter how skilled you are you can expect mass and wholesale murder of your troops! It might be a little much, meaning i wish bombers had a teeny weeny weak laser so they can do something besides making little b**** noises while an advanced fighter slaps em around but i guess it forces people to use their brains and awards those players who use strategy and penalize those who just build a lotta stuff and send it over. Formation fight, in AOK, is where you would have about 20 sword dudes and 20 archer dudes in a box formation and put them on stand ground. Take them to the enemy town, talk about murder!
