I agree that the second does looks much nicer with that water effect, BUT.. I must admit, that in consideration of the overall lighting/shadowing of the pic itself, I would actually say that the minimal effects for the water in the _first_ shot, actually look more appropriate for that specific image. Doesn't look quite right with such a big light glare on the water in the second shot, when that doesn't really exist elsewhere in the image. Was only a thought. Anyway. 1st level of the (not so great) Wheel of Time first person adventure game shows off water quite well.
