Guest averted
yo. First post (and maybe my last as I like to read more than write) but I had been anticipating this game for so long that now that I have it, I just had to weigh in on what I thought about it. If you don't have the game and want to be completly suprised when you get it, DONT READ ANYMORE, I might spill the beans on something that you would like to find out for yourself. So hear goes: THE BAD: graphics: AoK as we all know. I just wish there had been a little more movement out of the units while they were attacking. The jedi and fighters are the biggest disappointments. video and voice: the only video is the opening consisting of scenes from the movies. Worse is the openings to each scenerio. They seemed to be rushed and not well thought out, and they do not tell a story (such as in StarCraft). THE GOOD: The scenerios themselves are killer. I even had fun playing the tutorials. I never really liked Aok because I had problems telling what units were what, and that alot of them looked straight out of warcraft. But here they all look different per civ, and I know what a stormtrooper can do, as well as the mechs, fighters and jedi. The scenerio editor is strong but I haven't toyed with it much. Most of all this game is finally a star wars game that I have dreamed about for years. After playing tons of RTS's, I always wondered why a star wars one had never been done (I don't count rebellion, even though I played it a lot). The most fun I had: The last scenerio in the TRD FD campaign is a recreation of the battle on the field of Naboo at the end of TFM, but this time the feds win and darth maul, after killing the jedi, flys in half-way through the battle to help out. Well, there is the major battle going on and all of a sudden I have been wiped out--except for Maul. He's the only guy I have left so I send him in expecting to die immediatly. Except that he takes down the the rest of the Gungans by himself!!! Now there wasn't a whole lot of them left (maybe 8 to 10), but it was still cool. That's it.
