Scared of the new air unit/ all defense games...

I am very thankful that LA is upgrading all the civs and I hope to see some new units available in the xpansion...but this talk of this Air unit that takes out turrets and large groups of non- micromanaged ground units? It is tough enough already to go in on ground, which may give the air civs an advantage in a 1v1 game vs Ground civs like wookies and TF. Again I havent seen the xpansion with this new air unit, it is just a thought I had. I hope they are not overly powerful vs anti air mobiles and anti air troops....I was thinking maybe it could wipe out a group of Anti air troops, but would not fire fast enough for an armored anti air mobile. Also I wonder what damage it does vs fortresses? Could ground troop civilizations be in trouble....or a good civ only if you have support from a partner who is good and smart enough to come to your rescue? Fighters will own that new air unit im sure...but naboo fighters will own wookie fighters who come to take out the anti-anti-air/ ship. I guess we will see....

Also I think that defensive play is overwhelming the SWGB community.. freak I cant believe once I saw a few shield generators powerd by 6 or so power cores... in the middle of it all was 2 fortresses and anti air to boot and a CC!!!!!! Get out of your little fort and fight....... Its not so bad when its 1v1, because then I get to tech 3 first and wipe them out if i know they are defensive. .. but 2v2 or 3v3 gets out of control for defensive play....and then we get these 2 hour contests. Im all for a little more conquering and a lot less for sitting on your duff in your own kingdom..anyway...let me know what you all feel. Intellegent comments only :D

Guess that rules out everyone here doesn't it??? ;)

 

 

Well my guess is that this new air unit may be like a cannon where it fires a slow, powerful shot, and then takes a minute before it can fire again.

 

 

About the multiplayer stuff, i say let them play however they want... if you play against a lot of people that play like that you should be able to find the counter stategy and kill them very quickly.

 

Once you can do that, people will relize that they can't just sit there and wait for you.

 

There is not perficte stategy, every stategy has a weakness...

Hey, who said the air civs will get the best air cruisers? The Empire is kinda known for having the best capital ships after all;)

 

Maybe this will actually help even the score. If the Empire gets both the best air cruiser and the new Imperial Walker upgrades maybe they'll finally get that extra something they've been needing.

 

Of course both sound expensive, so who knows how often they'll come into play?

You want to play a game where they come out and attack instead of sit and defend? Play an inter or expert game... Normally over in less than 45 minutes... even in 2v2 or 3v3 unless everybody is evenly matched.

 

They'll still build their fortresses and shield generators, they'll just build them IN YOUR BASE! *lol*

If he a turbo turtle 4 cannons with a heavy screening group will teach him the error of lot of forts and few units.

 

As for the air cursier I think of it like the SC BC. Rarely used but A HUGE PAIN WHEN IT IS! They'll proably cost as much as a walker and be as slow as one too.
