Imperial Base Carin - Been stuck here for way too long

I can't seem to find a way to beat this level.

 

Possible spoilers

 

I start the game in the bay with the ship I flew in with, I kill everyone there and continue down the hallway till I find Luke. After finding Luke we battle the Jedis in the second hanger bay and he goes up the catwalk into a door.

 

I proceed down to another hallway where I find a control room and suck all the guards in the main hanger area out into space. I then power up the lifts.

 

I go up one lift and kill all the guards there and open the hanger doors with the emperor like ship in it. After killing all the guys there I jump onto the catwalk and blast through the airduct and proceed through that.

 

At this point my objective of "finding way out of hangers" is complete but not the "find the doomsgiver".

 

After proceeding through the airduct I work my way down the force field rooms and into another room where I shoot countless guards and open up doors to elevator shafts. At the elevators shafts I jump in one and crawl through another airduct to get to a working one. I jump inside this elevator and it takes me down to where it's dark and that's where I'm stuck.

 

Did I miss a crucial step? Did the game not pick up that I found the Doomsgvier (if that's what it is)?

 

I've restarted this level several times and always ended up in the same place. It's really getting annoying, any help would be appreciated.

Nah, you haven't missed anything. Play around on the elevators until you find your way out. It sounds like you're on the right one though. If you don't see anything by riding IN the elevator try hopping out and riding on top of it to see if you see anything any better.

Yeah, what wh|stler said. There's another openingin the second tube. You'll see the entrance of another tube across a short expanse which you jump to get to it. If I remember correctly, it should be pretty straight forward from their....I think, hehe.
