1st or 3rd person saber

The manual says there's an option for keeping lightsaber duels first-person but I can't find it. Am I missing something?

Come on guys. This was an advertised feature. Either it's there and I've missed it (and the manual says it's there) OR Lucas/Raven didn't bother to include it and don't care what we think. Am I the only one this matters to?

Wow, relax.

There's a setting in Setup>Other that determines whether or not the game automatically switches perspective when you whip out the light saber. You can also push 'P' I think to manually switch whenever you want.

Look in the options. There is the option to have 3rd person lightsaber on or off.

 

On = 3rd person duels

 

Off = 1st person persp. duels.

They're talking about the multiplayer... that option is NOT available there...

Have you guys actually SEEN this option for multiplay? I've looked everywhere. Just so you guys know, while I enjoy Outcast I don't really care for 3rd person perspective games. 3rd person simply doesn't offer the sort of precision I'm used to in PC FPS's. In the previews I read, the writer mentioned fairly forcefully that it would be possible to go 1st person with light saber.

 

If it wasn't going to be included, Lucas/Raven should have at least mentioned it in the Readme. They didn't. I'm trying not to be an ass here, but for me the coolest weapon in the game is gimped.
