Chiles4
It's been said in other threads but for those of you who can't install the game cause you get any of these: - weird cd drive activity that finally gives up - error messages that pop up during install - error you blame on XP during the install - CRC (cyclical redundancy check) errors during install - any other error during install There is a very good possibility that your CD-ROM drive cannot handle the copy protection used on the JK2 CD. Basic CD-ROM drives can find it impossible to read a CD that uses LaserLok, SafeDisc, SecurRom, etc. copy-protection schemes. Unfortunately, if this happens to you, the only solution that's guaranteed to work is to keep trying different CD-Rom drives until you find one that "likes" the JK2 CD. CD-RW (burners) and DVD-ROM drives, especially newer ones, have a MUCH higher success rate that plain old CD-ROM drives. There is always the possibility that you have a defective CD but I've read that some of you can load the game on one machine but not on your own. If that happens, you can be almost certain that you're suffering from the problem I mentioned above. I tried to identify the copy protection scheme with a utility but it could not detect it. Even if the JK2 cd is not copy-protected, I'm fairly certain that the solution to most install problems is to try a different drive.
