DeM@rco
Hey guys, first of all, JK2 is an awesome game, I have no doubt about that. If I only could find that out by myself and play it in all it´s glory. But this is not possible for me most of the time, because of my low frame rates. I´ve been reading all posts concerning the low performannce on some Geforce cards. But I seem the only one so far, who has the following problem in SP...MP runs fine I am always getting different fps, whenever I load a saved game, no matter, if I load a quicksave or start a new game. The frame rate is changing a lot with each new loading procedure. Sometimes I have very good fps right from the start, but most of the time, I have to load a saved game for about 10 times, until I have the fps that seem normal to me for my system. With normal fps, I´m talking about 85-100 fps indoors and about 50 fps outdoors (see my specs for that). When I have one of these "bad loads" I only get about 30 fps indoors and 10-20 fps outdoors, which is way too low. I am not able to reproduce this strange behaviour, sometimes it runs great (not too often) but mostly it chokes so bad, I can hardly play. The most frustrating thing for me is, that I KNOW that Jedi Outcast CAN run on my system, I have the chance to experience this in some rare moments and then no one can drag me away from my PC, because I have to fear, that every time Kyle dies and I reload a savegame, it will run choppy again! This is almost like playing "Russian Roulette" :-( I would appreciate any help from You guys. Maybe Raven can adress the performance issues with NVida cards in a patch soon. GX-Buck
Believe or not, your overclocking can easily be the culprit. Whenever you are overclocking, reducing speeds back down to default should ~always~ be the first troubleshooting attempt.
DeM@rco
You are right, GX-Buck, and this was one of my first tries, too, but I forgot to mention it in my long post...;-) I clocked CPU and my GFX card back down to normal speed, but it didn´t help with my problem. But thanx for Your reply
daction
well when I disabled anisotropic filtering I got at least a 50% boost in performance. Try that if you haven't.
grantnin
Sounds like it could be a heat thing to me.
Cabezone
Dude I am having exaclly the same problem. If you start the game from the beginning no problems, but if you load a saved game the performance drops like 50%. I have almost the same syatem as you but I run windows xp. I emailed tech support with the problem, but all I got back was: That's odd, I will pass this along to a member of our development staff and see what they have to say about this. Lets hope they can find the problem and patch it. JC
GreyWing
Yeah I've got the same problem. I'm on the crystal mine level now and my FPS is dipping below 30fps outdoors. I'm running the game at the default "High Quality" settings.
