Ded. Server needs w/o CD????

I wanted to setup a dedicated server, but I can't since the damn game wants the CD. So now I'm stuck with the choice of playing the game or setting up a server so others can play it.

Anyone know of a "tool" to allow me to run the server without the CD?

Thanks in Advance

there is also a no-cd fix availible that works on the server side but NOT for the client.. so you can run it on the server with no problems that i heard of but don't try it in the machine you use to play on.. If you have a burner thats the route i'd go just to be sure.

DISCLAIMER: I do not advocate using this software, and I'm not saying it is correct or legal. It may or may not be, and I'm not saying you SHOULD do this. It's not my fault if you get caught doing something stupid. Read the "spoiler" if you don't care.

Well, I don't have this problem cuz I' running a linux server and all u need are the pak files, which can be copied off the CD. But...if you need to have the cd "in the drive", here's what I recommend:

Download the BlindRead suite (there are "ways" around the registration thing but that's not nice and you only need to use it once anyway): www.blindwrite.com

Use that program to make a BIN/CUE image of the cd.

Now, go download daemontools: www.daemon-tools.com. It's free and stuff. It allows you to make "fake" cdrom drives, so basically your computer thinks it has more cd drives and you can "put cds" in the "drives" by mounting an image. so go mount the jk2 bin/cue cd image that you made earlier.

Now you can put the CD one computer and have the image in another.
