Dredge
I searched all 6 pages of threads and posts for this problem, but I have not come across anything even remotely close. *System Specs: •AOpen AK73 Pro •AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz •nVidia GeForce 3 •768 MB PC133 RAM •Creative Labs Platinum Live! 5.1 •Windows XP Professional *Problem: now I've tried every form of back-peddling known to myself. Adjusting OpenGL and Direct3D within the properties tabs as well as stepping down the hardware acceleration. The install went perfect, the game loaded just fine, no reported GL errors or subsystem glitches. The problem starts with the "LucasArts" logo and then continues in every aspect of the game. My friend once had a pair of the 3D Revelator glasses and basically [if you've never used them before] the Stereo3D software flickers two instances of your screen into a left and right channel. Almost like a double image, flickering on the screen. For the record, I've NEVER installed those drivers, I don't even own the Revelator glasses - the problem just reminded me of those. I was, at the time, using the Detonator 23.11 drivers, I bumped them up to the recent 28.32 - both versions of the drivers cause the same effect. I even stepped WAY back to the version previous to 23.11 and still no luck. The OpenGL 1.1 drivers are basic in XP so I didn't have to do any work on those. *The BEST way I can describe this problem [aside from what I listed above], is: STARE at your monitor [with or without the game loaded] - cross your eyes - THAT'S WHAT THE GAME LOOKS LIKE ! For the record - I've NEVER had this problem with ANY other game I've installed on my systems, so this is a rare one-of-a-kind problem I've come across. Any suggestions ? Thanks gents and gems, [Dredge]
Valdarious
This is me. Abit Mobo AMD Athlon 1ghz Geforce 3 ti200 512 MB ram Creative Live Value WindowsXP I am currently running the 2.3.1.1 drivers myself and I have had no problems with this game in any way shape or form, fast loads, fast gameplay, with all settings pretty much maxed and using 1024 reso. My roomate is using something similiar only he has an ASUS Mobo and a Gefore 2 MX, he has had the game lock 2 times on him I think but 2 times for how long he has played it is not much. I honestly have never heard of this problem before sounds wierd. What type of monitor are you running and whats the resolution and Hertz rating at in Windows? Are you using a recommended Hertz rating that the monitor can handle as far as windows is conserned? Just trying to throw ideas out.
Dredge
Thanks for suggestion ! I'm currently using a Sony 19" CPD-E400 Multiscan - I've tried every conceivable refresh rate that the monitor is capable of. I have 3 others in my arsenal that I've tested as well: Sony M81 18" Flat Panel, Sony GDM-F520 21" and I even tried my standby Philips 107s 17". ...to no avail. ***I have however figured out this much: I can't run the game in FULLSCREEN mode, my prefered WinXP resolution is 1280x1024 - if I run the game in a "windowed mode" and adjust the in-game resolution to 1280x1024, I can fit the entire game, edge to edge with my monitor and the screen looks PERFECT, only about an 8th of an inch of the titlebar is visible - but it's better than playing the game cross-eyed ! Thanks again though.... [Dredge]
Doppler
What might be happening is that XP doesn't like to adjust the refresh rates of games to your desktop refresh rate. Switching to windowed mode might possibly be allowing the desktop's refresh rate to take over. In game (this was grabbed from another thread) refresh rate changing can happen: 1. Bring down console (shift and ~) 2. r_displayrefresh XX (type in the number you desire, I use 85) 3. vid_restart It will look like you are losing your level and reloading, but you do come back to where left off, no worries. This changes your ingame refresh rate to what you desire for WInXP. Again, this is speculative for your problem- but might help! :atat:

Stereo support (ie for those glasses) comes with the later nVidia drivers, maybe something is wrong there?
Dredge
Yeah, I kinda figured that the most recent drivers would have Stereo 3D support despite the fact that there's a seperate download if you need drivers for the Revelators. Unfortunately, if it's the Stereo 3D that's kickin' itself in [when I really don't need it], there's no sure way to intervene because there's no options or settings to adjust in the tabs or current options for version 23.11 or 28.32. As for the in-game refresh rate adjusting - that was a good suggestion and I made the attempt, at least 7 different common rates as well as refresh rates I knew I couldn't support - but alas, it has yet to work. I've pretty much completed most of the game, as I mentioned before, in windowed mode @ 1280x1024. My buddy "Inspektah" asked me if I had this problem with Quake III at all - I relayed to him that this was an extremely isolated incident and I have never had this problem once ever with any game - this was a true first. Oh well - no use in "dredging" over it now. I give serious thanks to anyone who read this and tried to find a cure [even if you didn't post a response] as well as those few who did post a response [Valdarious, Doppler and Amorpheus]. Thanks for the lookout gents and gems. Later all. [Dredge]
