OrionZite
Hey everyone, this'll be my first post on the forum, so please bear with me. In any event, I purchased Jedi Knight 2 a couple days ago, and have been having quite a time with the single player(despite the agonizingly slow load times coupled with the fact that my intel 82810E graphics controller can't AT ALL handle the game's top settings). In any event, my beef at this point is not about game output(though I do have a decent machine) simply because I find the game a joy to play even at it's gut wrenchingly low settings..but instead I'm having Multiplayer woes. The gist of my problem is that I cannot, for the life of me, get a list of the servers hosted on the master server. I tried the technique featured on one of the earlier threads about editing my "hosts" file(or merely creating one in win32/drivers) but without avail. I've had no problems playing other multiplayer games in the past, such as Warcraft 3/Counter-Strike/Dark Forces 2:Jedi Knight(on zone.com), and am wondering if there may be any way to figure out whether or not my inability to see multiplayer servers is somehow related to a firewall? I play off my school LAN at the University of Florida. I'm curious as to what ports Jedi 2 uses so I could contact the ethernet administrator and see about begging and pleading for them to be opened. Or..perhaps if anyone out there has a trick and/or tip that I might apply to attempt bypassing these woes..please feel free to share. Thanks for taking the time to give this a looksy, and may the force be with you all.
