Sandovalia9
I have a Radeon 8500 and this game is da Bomb! P3 800/win98SE/512MB Ram/ I run it at 1280/1024 32bit color/all settings high and no problems. If you do get this awesome card, I would make sure to update the drivers to the 9021 set (win 98SE) they seem the best and most stable...so far. In fact I see a major improvement on all the open gl based games I play so I wasn't too surprised to find that this one worked so well 'out the box'. I think you can't go whong with the Radeon. Nickeleye
I just went to ATI's site and the 9016 driver is the latest one they have out (March) so I'm downloading for when my card gets here. Is this the best driver I should be using once I install my card?
Swifty
I'm running ATI version 6-13-10-6037 on my 8500, and the game runs smooth as glass at 1024x768 32bit. Turned shadows down a bit, everything else is maxed. I have a 1700+ XP, and 512DDR on WinXP. A buddy talked me into the Radeon, and man I LOVE it! Nickeleye
Ok, my Radeon 8500 came today and I've got it installed. Now I want to be able to set it up to run as well as you guys have. I'd like to be able to run JO and my other games at 1024x768 smoothly like you guys do, but how do I set it up best? I've got JO running at 800x600 @ 75-100 FPS, but if I bump it up to 1024x768 it drops dramatically to 30-50 FPS. I'm using the 4-13-9016 drivers right now. I also entered my bios setup and told my motherboard to use 4x AGP (is that good?). I would also like to give overclocking the card a shot. Does anybody know how to do that? I can use as much info as possible on this. Thanks for the help you guys. I'll post my system specs again just so you don't have to dig through the posts.
