Bullettooth
Everyonce in awhile when I die in a mp game ill get this sound stutter that at the most lasts about 5 sec and is really annoying. I dont get this prob in single player at all and I was just wonderingn if this as happened to anyone else and if they fixed it. I have a Duron 900, Geforce 3 TI200, SoundBlaster Live Value and 448 of ram. Any help would be great.

WhiteBoy
I get that too. Do you get it if you just pull up the scores (i.e. Tab)? I have: Athlon T-Bird 800 512MB RAM ATI Radeon 8500 SB Live! Value Common thread I see for two of us is the Live! Value card. Wonder if I have a spare sound card around here somewhere?? wb
Crease
Let me just chime in that I have a Sound Blaster Live! and I experiece the same thing. It even happens when I bring up the score menu manually. I bought Creative Labs because they had made reliable cards in the past. This thing is crap and had brought me trouble in so many games. Last Creative Labs product I ever buy and I'd never recommend it.

Crease
Does a driver upgrade help? I'm trying now, but maybe you already have.
WhiteBoy
No, that was the first thing I tried. Didn't help with me...maybe you'll have better luck. wb

JK Legacy
i'm gettin the same problem in multiplayer :/ i've got athlon xp1700 256mb mircon ddr gf3 ti200 sb live value <--- :/ the sb live has brought me probs with half life in the past, thought it was just my old comp but sound stuttered so much. There was a fix for sound in HL but it didnt work for me. i'm gettin lock ups when i bring up score menu and also when i join a game i get freezes for like 5 mins into the game until it eventually straightens out. Tried setting levels down but it didnt help :/ also i'm having problems with MP loads, my SP loads are v.fast not like the problems ppl have been reportin but when my MP loads it gets to Awaiting Snapshot... and just sits there for up to 10 mins. sometimes it just sits there till the next map loads and does the same. im connected via a LAN to a DSL connection, i'm wonderin if the LAN's got anythin to do with my connection problems. Theres' no proxy server or anythin set up cos i wouldnt know what to do. All its got is internet connection sharin set up, i'm runnin W98 SE btw. hmm that turned into an essay, leg
Crease
I give awaiting snapshot about 30 seconds. If it hangs any longer than that, I just try to reconnect. It usually does the trick. I hope these Raven guys didn't take a big vacation. They have some patching to do.
Mo-X
Guys, I had this same problem with my Soyo Dragon+ Onboard 5.1 Surround 6 channel Sound... I then switched back to my SoundBlaster Live! Value card, and the problem still exists... It's something in the game. Don't throw away your Creative cards just yet.
Juggernawt
This is a fairly common problem with Creative and other cards based on their chipsets. Problem seems to be bad drivers that aren't 100% DX8 compatible. Here's a solution that helped me. Start -> Run -> Type "dxdiag" -> Return -> Sound Tab -> Move 'Hardware Acceleration'-slider down to Standard -> Reboot. You may even have to turn it down to Basic or None for the stutter to go away.
