Move Bots = less fps (config question, plz help)

Hi. I have a 1000mhz athlon, 64mb radeon 7200, 256mb pc133, and i was wondering, during multi-player, if i create a server, offline, and i decide to run the server with 16 bots againts me, my frame rate becomes pretty poor for my config. i find myself having to go down to 16-bit color to run it better. BUT if i only play with 5 or less bots, im speedin along. Its my memory right? i Should add a 512mb stick, get up to 640mb? If this is not the problem, could someone tell me what i should do? Thanks.
