Guest Syclonix
Please help! I constantly get this error message when I host my own game (could it possibly be from too many aliases in my autoexec.cfg?). Anyways it happens about 2 minutes into hosting the server, so far I've only hosted while playing by myself trying to test out some scripts. I also tried putting in extra commands in the command line in the jkmp.exe like in Half-Life such as zone 1024, heapsize x etc. but not much luck
Guest Syclonix
alright, if you guys used a patch for NO CD just replace it with the original and use the CD and you won't get this error anymore!

funki
hey don't be so quick to judge guys. A friend of mine buys his games but always tries to use no cd cracks. He stores all his cds away in case they get scratched or lost. Also, he was getting the parse error and 999 pings. his adsl cnx was being trashed forcing him to reboot each time. He took out the crack and re-installed but he's still getting the same problem. This seems to work for a few people but there's an awful lot more people who have never installed the crack still getting the parse errors If anyone knows any more about it pls post here as I think it's a bad flaw in the MP netcode. too many people not able to play it. Canusa
I get the CL_parsepackets error in both single and multiplayer without using any cracks. The game is almost unplayable.
Guest Syclonix
Why's everyone calling people n00bs? I BOUGHT the game, that is why when I used the original exe file I put in the CD (which I BOUGHT) to be able to play the game. Although I still find it annoying that I have to keep that CD in there everytime I play.
Ravenous
I'm trying it with the No-cd patch and I always get the cl_ParsePacketEntites: error during multiplayer. Sometimes it'll take 2 seconds, other times the game will last for about 5 minutes before the error comes up. Regardless what type of exe you are using, how can we fix this problem cause it seems it is a common one.
Jinzoningen
Des anyone understand this damn CL_ParsePacketEntities thing? Though it's not really relevant, I have a similar problem with Quake3. Friends have recorded demo's of my match yet I cannot watch the demos. We all have the same version and same maps yet the demo will kick out after about 30 seconds... the only thing i can find is a "CL_ParsePacketEntities" up in the console. I've posted this problem in about 4 different forums and no one can seem to give me a way to view these demos. I'd like to see CL_ParsePacketEntities crushed for good. Does anyone know what's going on? Anyone at Raven?!? I havn't had this problem with JKII or anything so i don't think it's with this game or due to a CD-crack or anything.... my 2 cents
Ravenous
It seems that's almost half the answers out there are "Buy the game and stop hacking!" or "Remove the no cd-patch and it works fine." Well it has nothing to do with that! My friend and a bunch of his roomates always have huge LANs going on at his place. One of them just got Jedi Knight 2 and when they got the LAN going the next night, they wanted to try it out on the network. After loads of installing and no-cd patches, half of them work fine and half get the CL_ParsePacketEntities error. They are all using the exact same No-cd patch....So how about some new answers. I saw another post on this board saying one of the no-cd patches form GameCopyWorld creates this problem, but if you install a different no-cd patch from gamecopy it fixes the problem, anyone try this? No1zLegacy
I'm using the original copy and cd. Doesn't seem to matter though. I still get these errors. My ping hits 999 after about 3-5 minutes of play and it won't recover. Although I am on dial-up I know this isn't the problem. Because before it happens, my ping is a steady 250-300. So many people with differen't computers and internet connections are getting this problem, so it has to be some kind of a glitch in the game. I would think it's an error in the netcoding myself actually. Any error that envloves entity packets usually relates to packets of information being lost between you and the hosting server. I know Tribes 2 for example had tons of these same type of errors when it first came out, and it took about 5 patches to work out all the netcoding bugs, lol (stupid dynamix). It was the same problem where you couldn't stay connected to a server for long before getting entity packet errors. So just give it time. I bet you anything they'll release a patch next month for this problem.
rolo
I have tried both no-cd cracks from http://www.gamecopyworld.com and I still get the problem. There must be an answer for this somewhere.... Anyone else try no-cd #2 with any success?
]CkB[Polaris
if you bought the game and dont want to have to put the CD in the drive to play you need to rip the CD to your HD and get daemon tools. It sets up a virtual CD-rom and works like a champ. I dont warez games. But I dont like to use the CD because my kids grab them and use them as frisbees. I find D-Tools solves this.
