The_BZA
System as follows 1.0 gig Athlon ECS K7VZA mobo 512 MB RAM WD 40 gig 7200 RPM HD. PNY Verto GeForce 4 Ti4400 OVerclocked to 310/620 Now, all that being said, in large environments when i scan across an area quickly my monitor seems to be flashing or skipping ever so slightly, at first i thought it to be a cooling problem with the card so i installed an 80 mm Card cooling fan in my plexiglass window unit on the side of my case. Temps dropped very well but the skippy performance persists. I am well versed in the settings of a video card and all appears to be in order. Vsynch os on, bilinear filtering is on, i also tried trilinear. anistropic filtering is on, and has been changed between 2x, 4x, and 8x. no change. my final thought is the monitor itself. its a 2 yr old Dell 17 inch and i think the refresh rate is too low? could that be the case? i dont have another monitor or the 400 bucks to shell out for a good viewsonic. any suggestions? let me know. thanks, i appreciate it. peace! pmccool
I had the same problem as you but with a Geforce 3. I went into the bios and changed AGP compensation from AUTO to BYPASS. I dont know what that really does but it got rid of all the flashing. Give it a shot.
